Are you ready Hoergren? Do you have the Carlsberg ready?
They closed the roof especially for Caro!

I'm ready for a well deserved Carlsberg. A good and promising first set then she let McHale into the match and came back strong in third. Still a lot of things to work at but signs of a better serve (not 2nd set of course) better forehand and signs of tryning to be dominant at the net. All in all a good win for Caroline. Time for a Carlsberg.

And I hope that the roof stays on as 44 centigrades are way too much.

With not much matches going on, it is trivia time. Can you name a WTA player
after whom a flower is named? Can you name a ATP player after whom an
asteroid is named?

Vi Vi Victoria, the rose. I think Azarenka would have been a better name

You got that. You get 100 points if you did not google it up and
0 points otherwise. ;)

VIVACIOUS Victoria Azarenka found out in the past week that a flower has been named after her. The honor was "amazing," Vika tweeted, and you can see the "Va-Va Victoria" blooms here. The flower's keepers say in a written statement exclusive to TENNIS.com “The HGTV HOME Plant Collection's Va-Va Victoria™ rose is beautiful, strong and resilient. We chose to name it after Victoria Azarenka because she represents all of these things.” So what about that Carefree Caroline? A Wozniacki homage? Answer: No.
[/quote]

If I had googled, I would have guessed VaVa instead of ViVi. A rather dumb name

Yo…that's not fair. 10sfan got it without googling, which you insisted on, and now you tell him to get a life? Clearly I need to get a life, because I got the asteroid one. Or, more aptly, you need to get a life, because you knew both. You can't test us with trivia then insult us because we know the answers. :s I thought trivia was meant to be fun.

3 double faults by Masha to give the game away, Knapp can't take advantage and gives the match away.
Sharapova had 67 unforced errors against 34 winners, Knapp did 55 UFE of her own against 20 winners.
What a error-fest.

Bring on Caro, she will play better Tennis.

The total points in that match is 236. Of that 122 were unforced errors (that is
more than 50% of the points) and 54 were winners (that is less than 25% of the
points).

The 4th day of matches concluded the second round of singles competition. But, a couple of Doubles matches got cancelled and as a result, Serena will have to play singles and doubles on day 5

I'm glad you all were keeping up with the score of Stephens/Tomljanovic last night. I went to bed while play was suspended because of lightning and Sloane was up 3-0. I actually figured it would hurt Sloane and Tomljanovic would come back. But I didn't think she'd win 5 games in a row. I figured she'd get 2 or 3 in a row and Sloane would win it fairly regularly at 6-4. Great job by her though to come from behind and win 4 in a row, though it looks like she had some help from a double fault, which is really just the sign of a nervous young woman. So Sloane took advantage of it. I'll say this, Tomljanovic was the better player at many points throughout the match. I was surprised to see Sloane missing quite a bit there for a while. But trying to return a serve like Tomljanovic's well and not be in a disadvantage is no easy task.
