I'm for Puig...not a lover of Pennetta nor Errani for that matter.

Hey GG, good to have you back. Hopefully it's not a furnace where you are. I'll be happy to get a good competitive match between the two. Flavia can be up and down so if Puig can handle the heat she may send Flavia home.

Flavia is an old gun, just too many tricks for the young Monica, Monica is basically a ball basher, I don't know if she'll ever be top 20

Flavia is the only Italian left in the top part of singles draw.

Daniela and Karolina ended up on court 13!

Daniela needs to move to higher courts, a win in this round should do the trick!

But I think she has Serena next.

ITs kind of a boring day on the women's side...other than seeing if Stosur will survive.

Flavia played a very fine game, almost flawless. Out of all the Italians, I like her the best, no screeching.

The best match of the day just went into overtime but there is no TV coverage, such is life on court 13

Daniela leads in the deciding set 7-6, Karolina to serve....

Im so happy to see Stosur at least making the 3rd round. Hey even if she loses there it's still a big victory for her!

I am happy about Eugenie winning in straights, but saddened by Sabine falling.

Likewise. I was 50/50 re Pironkova. You could look at it this way. Firstly Stosur's record is poor at the AO and Pironkova was very much in form having just won her first title so you could see her winning. Of course the other possibility, which is what likely actually was the case, is that way too often when a player is hyped up after their first tournament win, they fail miserably in the next. It's a terrible trend but happens so so often unfortunately.

Let's be honest, Pironkova and Lisicki are not those players whom play wonderful tennis day in, day out. I'm not the least surprised both lost. I expect Halep to be out by 4 th round.

Halep is heading towards Jankovic. I can't remember offhand if they've played before, but it could be an interesting match.
