Vondrousova is in all sorts of trouble against the Q Yastremaska, her errors are missing by metres, Yastremaska firing winner after winner and wins the 1st set 61 Yastremska W 13 UFE 11 Vondrousova W 2 UFE 9
I cannot see Vondrousova getting out of this match she it trailing 1-4 in the 2nd set,
The No 7 seed Vondrousova defeated in SS 61 62 by Q Yastrremska
Go get that wrist fixed, it was obvious you were struggling with your shots and the reason you withdrew from Adelaide

Coco Gauff eases into the AO 2nd round with a 63 6-0 win over Anna Schmiedlova
Gauff is now 30-4 (88%) since August last year. Meets Caroline Dolehide in R2

Very keen to see Caroline doing well in her comeback as I am Angelique and Naomi, beyond these former champions hope to see Lleyah Fernandez and Emma Raducanu playing well and making it through to the second week :good:

Garcia served unreal against Osaka, no break points offered at all I think. She was too good for the Osaka who needs more matches to get back to top level.

Osaka is on the road back to her top level - but still too many shots in the net else she played really well , but Garcia was sharp today.

I recorded Osaka's match and just finished watching I agree with Hoergren, I said before Osaka needs more time, and match play, she has just returned, there are things in her game she still has to work on, Garcia did serve lights out, she is dangerous when she plays like this, which at the moment is few and far between

Osaka said her tentative plans schedule for coming months includes Dubai, IW, Miami, and Charleston

BTW Mira Andreeva joins Alina Korneeva and Brenda Fruhvirtova in the 2nd round.
This is the first time since 2005 3 16 year olds advance to the second round in Melbourne since 2005 ( Vaidosova, Krajicek and Golovin)

So far no one really looks sharp except for Saba.
Saba hasnt really been tested so far, she played a German Qualifer in her first round match.Lets see how she goes with tougher opponents, like in the 2nd week, she can implode, like she did in Brisbane.

Thinking about it, why dosent Osaka play lower grade tournaments until she finds her game more, like WTA250 and/or WTA500, though some draws at the level at 500 can be tough. You dont want to get beaten and lose in 1st round or 2nd round tournaments, you cannot improve or find your game, losing early
