Is winning the WTA finals a death wish for players....Garcia won it in 2022 and her game has gone southwards
Remembering Muguruza winning a few years back and look at her game now and where she is........

Maybe for the women, but the men seems to have the opposite affect

There's a reason why Garcia has never made a slam final. Same with Sabalenka. I trust Pliskova the most to make the final from this half of the draw.
I honestly thought when Caroline finally rid of her father as her long time coach, she improved out of sight, with a new coach, she always had the talent
Since coming to Aussie Saba has played the best I have seen her,

Yes, Plishkova is sturdy, but I'll but pulling for the wild ride that is Sabalenka!

Glad Donna made QF. Not sure of her chances against Sabalenka, probably slim, but it's women and anything can happen. I will continue to believe that she can surprise here.

Donna has had injuries in the past couple of years, good to see she has found her game and her confidence again

Just checked her h2h with Sabalenka and she actually leads her 5:1! Not so slim chances to win then.
Plus, Sabalenka has a history of coming up short in slam quarterfinals and semis. I'm not going to buy into the hype until she actually makes a slam final.

Agree. Let's see what she is made of. Draw has opened up for her to go all the way.

It seems like the courts are playing fast because all the hardhitters survived.I am picking Saba... cautiously for the win in of the event.

Well if she can keeps displaying this form, she will be hard to beat, if she makes the final

Not sure at the beginning of the tournament I would make a wild prediction but based on the play I have managed to see here in the US (despite ESPN's dreadful coverage), I am picking Ostapenko (I know, I know) vs. Sabalenka in the final. Selecting Sabalenka, who hasn't lost a set in the tournament, really has a strong chance to win her first GS. Pliskova stands in her way, but from what I saw Sabalenka seems to be swinging freely, but what I noticed is her on court demeanor seems more casual, more confident.

Now Ostapenko, who sent Gauff packing, seems to be in really fine form, even upsetting the tops seeds in the mixed doubles draw. If she can survive the serving of Rybakina, I see her coming through the top half of the draw. My pick for the title - WHO KNOWS, IT'S THE WTA!
