I know we agree, but there are still some people here that feel her parents are the right coaches for her right now.
Well I hope those people watched this match, can see she needs a proper coach to take her to the next level, she had no game plan, her serve which has always been a problem, deserted her when she needed it most,.....she is a good athlete and talented , I just get frustrated with her results at times, like today, she can be better than what she displayed in this match

So can we put to bed the fact that it's time for Coco to get a next level coach? Someone who would have given her a game plan for today. If she had a game plan, she sure didn't execute it.
A match like this needed Patrick's input,he knows all the players.I think Coco should have slowed down the match but she fell into the penko trap.I think Coco's parents are nice and might not want to rock the boat.
One attribute that Serena had was problem solving, she would have found a way to win this kind of match.I hope she works with a sports psychologist on why she freezes in certain matches.

Knock me over with a feather that Swiatek is out. And super-disappointed about Coco.

Well we all knew Rybakina would be a danger match, Coco was just disappointing in her match against Ostapenko

Okay Jess will have a 2nd chance to serve for the 1st set 6-5 against Krejcikova
Finally Jess has served out the 1st set 75...this has been a tight battle.

Jess is up a double break in the 2nd set, she is swinging freely now, and on a roll, after a tight first set,
Pegula leading 5-1 2nd set, 1st set 75
This was their first meeting as well
A confident win by Jess Pegula, after winning a tight first set, the only American left now in the draw, and the highest ranked player left in the draw.
Pegula d Krejcikova 75 62.... Jess in my view is one of the contendors in this tournament

So if my calculations are correct, we have 3 slam champs left and one of them being the only former AO (Elena, Osta, Vika). Currently Vika has her hands full on Laver w/ this Chinese upstart.

Yep. And these are more worrisome than the rest.
I am happy for Vika that she won a very difficult match. This girl was running down every ball plus her serve had weight behind it.I hope she will recover enough for the next match. You are right Ryba Saba and Pegula are great ball strikers. She better be ready or she will be left behind..I am just happy that it's going to be someone different winning a slam.

Watched highlights of Azarenka v Zhu match
Vika had her hands full with Zhu, though I felt when it went the distance in this match, Vika's experience shone through.
Well done Zhu you competed well!

BTW,
The top 2 seeds in each of the women's and men's events are out before the QFs of a slam for the first time in Open Era history.

Hope Vekic can beat Fruhvirtova and reach her second slam QF. She's on a roll here, but so is the young Czech. Should be an interesting match.
