Seb Korda summed up his game ' Just Go For It'
He has blinked before with MPs against Novak and Rafa, he held firm in his match against Medvedev

Enjoyed the Korda match.
He is indeed growing into it and will hopefully improve and improve.

He played Med well using tactics rather than just brute force.

Also enjoyed seeing Sinner come back from 2 sets down.
It was close'ish but Fucs didn't have an answer to Sinner's game 3rd, 4th, 5th set.

I just avoid watching the Djok matches:)

A real confidence booster for Jannik, it was the first time he won being down 2 sets to love, those final 3 sets, when Jannik finding his game, Fucs had no answer.
Fun Fact,
Jannik Sinner is the 5th male player to reach 6+ Grand Slam Fourth Round matches in a row in the Open Era, before turning 22, after Jim Courier, Pete Sampras, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Why must a player be "the next great champion" or "next #1" to be worthy of consideration? This is my issue with your view, @Fiero425, that keeps popping up. Every player that isn't a modern day Borg sucks.

Alcaraz did the job last season! The example isn't in front of us, but he did what needed to be done for the world to take notice! He not only defeated Nadovic, he won events, getting to #1! It was aided due to Novak being hampered by Covid situation! I don't understand why you're confused? I keep saying Americans seem to be on the rise, but their winning will be limited due to inability to finish off past champions more than once or twice! Players you have to be impressed w/ and has some real weapons are still coming out of Europe like Carlos, Holger who put on a show last Fall, Borna (even though upset), Matteo, & Cameron! Players like Francis, Sebastian (def. Daniil), & lately w/ Tommy Paul still haven't gotten over the hump w/ the last Gen. (Stefanos, Sascha, & Daniil)! I guess we'll have to be confused together! :astonished-face: :fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy:

Would love to see Korda become a serious contender. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the top American, above Fritz and Tiafoe.
Jim Courier said before the match between Seb and Daniil, he also thinks Seb will end up being the top American player.

OMG, just watched Tiafoe blow a 5 set pt. lead in 4th set TB! That's what I'm talking about! Sometimes today's players just can't seem to finish!

Is Novak being punished or being taken advantage of by putting him on the court in night matches again & again? Seems quite unfair, but you never know, playing during the day might wear on him more with the oppresive heat; if there is any of that going on! So often they're playing w/ the roof closed due to heat & rain! :pleading-face: :astonished-face::fearful-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy:

Hopefully Popyrin dosent have a 'let down' after his 5 set win against Taylor Fritz he is playing lefty American Ben Shelton, who has a good game.Popyrin has soo much 'untapped talent, hopefully with Xavier Malisse on his coaching team, he can continue to improve.

Can Murray continue his winning ways after 2 5 sets matches? he will be tested by Bautista Agut.

I feel Rublev will win against as Moxie puts it 'Annoying' Dan Evans

Hey, you've confused me with someone else: I've never said Dan Evans is annoying...have I? I have said he looks like a truck driver, but he doesn't annoy me.

I looked at the Murray/Rba h2h. 3-3, with RBA having the 3 most recent wins, including a 5-setter in Oz. But he's coming off a 5-setter, too, and Murray seems to be better than the last couple of years of his comeback. But RBA has skunked him pretty recently, 2 times! Remember that RBA is only a year younger, but far less injured.

Thanks for clarifying, though what could be irritating about Dan Evans? But speaking of irritating, the endlessly-irritating Dimitrov has been flying under the radar in this tournament, winning all of his matches quietly in straights. Can he find enough to trouble Djokovic? Nah, probably not.

A solid performance from Tommy Paul defeating J. Brooksby 61 64 63 , who was not the player who defeated the No 2 seed Ruud 2 days earlier, first time Paul has made the 4th round at the AO, well done Tommy Paul a deserved win

Playing at night is a bonus for Novak. He plays his best tennis at night and don't have to fight the midday heat, though I'm not sure of the weather at the moment in Melbourne. Today is a good test for him, but I expect him to be through. If Rune passes Rublev that will be final before final for Novak. Expecting very hard match for him with a reasonable chance of upset if Rune plays his best tennis.

Novak has always played night matches at the AO for most of the rounds, he usually requests it, if he dosent like the number of night matches he can always ask for more day matches, he does get a few day matches, before the finals,. The weather in Melbourne at present is good conditions for playing tennis.
I dont understand the carry on quite frankly. Also it is a Saturday night in Melbourne when Novak is playing Dimitrov, it should be a sell out seeing it is a weekend in Melbourne.Seeing a lot of the top seeds have been knocked out, at present apart for the Young Greek, they are the 2 top seeds left., playing at night here is prime time especially for TV ratings and especially on the weekends
Also if he does make the finals is usually around 8pm here local time, so playing at night suits Novak to a tee, except for some of his fans apparently lol!

I am in love with Ben Shelton's serve already, being a lefty he just rolls it in with power, effortless power.Already you can see how the 1st serve is going to be important in this match up.,to both players.
Ben Shelton show casing his overall game,in the 1st set 63, catching Popyrin at the back of the court, with his volleys. This young man has come to play.
