People are saying that Novak's movement is not that good and others say he is faking it again. Who to trust?
I haven't seen a moment of his play, due to ESPN sparse showing of the Aus Open. I was going to ask who here HAS seen him play, and if he looks at all hampered. Nehmeth says he's hitting as well as ever, so that has to imply he's unhampered. I haven't heard anyone else weigh in. Except that Margaret says he took a MTO in this last one. (Let me guess: after he dropped the 2nd set? :face-with-tears-of-joy: )

He did have a group of "Where's Wally" who had too much to drink, and Novak complained to the umpire, they were drunk and not in the stadium to watch tennis :)....

eee...wrong. it was mid 2nd set :D. i haven't watched him too, so it is hard for me to say. There might be something small, but he is making it bigger like last time he played and won AO, that is my guess.

I know Djokovic loves night matches at the AO, still he needs to play at day time, though he did say he thought the court was playing slower, though at night the conditions can get heavier, due to weather, last couple of days in Melbourne the temp has dropped considerably.A lot of players do not like the balls either, saying they lose pressure quickly and become rather flat

I also wonder if Mats Medicated Wilander will eat his own words, saying Andy Murray should not be handed out wild cards, they should go to younger players?
Take that Mat, Murray has had given tennis fans 2 great performances at the AO, at age 35, with metal hips!

I still don't totally get it, but I don't think it's a stretch if they were drunk. lol
You know at night matches especially, people love a drink, I know I have been at the AO at night matches and had a few drinks, though players at times have to at times shut the crowd out, unless they become really rowdy, disrupt their fellow tennis fans around them

I think Murray's fitness for long matches is under-appreciated. Yes, he has a metal hip and he's 35, but he trains hard in the heat of Florida, and prepares to go long. Kokkinakis is young, but he's had tons of bad injury luck. He's "younger than his years" in terms of experience in the big moments, if you ask me. And I saw the stat above that says Murray is tied for most 2-sets down comebacks. It's kind of less surprising that it looks on paper.

I can say nothing, as the NY crowd likes a drink, too, and it gets rowdy late at night. :lol6:

Andy said he has worked very hard the last couple of months on his fitness and strength, it shows, has paid off, some of his returns younger players would not get to those balls at all.Well done Andy I say
