My preferred order to win - not counting complete darkhorses/guys that have close to zero chance (e.g. Murray...sorry):

1. FAA (because I like him, and still think his upside is as good as anyone's)
2. Rublev (because...the hair, the power arm, the general vibe, and the same name as a Tarkovsky film)
3. Djokovic (revenge for last year, and to open up the chance for a Rafa-Novak duke-out for #23 at RG)
4. Zverev (don't think he has a chance, but I feel for him)
5. Fritz/Tiafoe (because, 'Merica)

Honorable mention: Sinner.

ABD lol!

My favourites to watch are

Ruud (whole kid is a fast twitch muscle)

Brooksby (compact, rugged style)

Sinner (dynamic, northern Italian calm)

Norrie (I stole his 2H shovel BH, and it's winning me lots )

Less so FAA, but yeah, I'll suffer watching him.

Would love ABD and ABN out from now on really, breath of fresh air!

It was already coined ages ago, except it was ABN back then! :fearful-face: :pleading-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy: - ABN = Anybody But Nadal

Tiafoe all the way, probably needs Hurkacz or Korda to take out Medvedev though

If not, I guess Holger Rune as he's someone people will talk about
I dont mind Fritz draw out of all USA players, he has played well since he arrived Down Under
BTW leave Meddy alone thank you very much I would not mind if he won the title this year :)
Of course I have to cheer on my young Italian Sinner....

ABN stands for Anybody but Novak. You just jinked your guy. :astonished-face: :face-with-tears-of-joy::face-with-hand-over-mouth::partying-face:

He's still there! It doesn't matter now if he wins or not now that Rafa's out of the tourney! I told you people I'm not necessarily a fan of Novak's! I just appreciate his being around to quell the Fedal Mythos out there perpetrated by the Tennis Intelligentsia Mass Media! :fearful-face: :face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy::astonished-face:

Well you can continue to love Nadal on the sidelines as Gill Gross reminded me that Rafa's lost 7 of his last 9 matches! How you keep chirping about his greatness is disturbing! You might need help; serious HELP! Time has finally caught up with "old baldy!" He's not only dropping matches, he's looking bad while doing it! It's like he doesn't see the decline! He might be as delusional as some of his fans; maybe thinking clay will save him! DOUBTFUL! :fearful-face: :astonished-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy:

It doesn't matter. The slam race is over and Rafa won it! He's the GOAT! :partying-face: :good:

Watching the match now. That one point at the beginning of the 2nd set… it should have been Rafa’s three or four times and then MCDonald wins it. I love how flat this kid hits. Refreshing to see.

Thanasi has said some kind words about Andy Murray when he first came on the tour, he said Andy helped him a lot, encouraged him, he also said 'He is a ripper of a bloke' typical Aussie male comment :) Thanasi v Murray will be played later this afternoon.

Rafa's news conference was typical! "I didn't want to retire! I couldn't hit my backhand! I couldn't run!" What a fk'n idiot! Cry me a river; like Xisca!

Surely this list never included Nadal. Has it changed with upsets?

I got to see the match and I saw where he pulled up badly. McDonald hitting the ball as flat as he did and using the angles he used did not allow Rafa to ease into the tournament. That was as grueling a first round as I’ve seen in a while. He‘ll be up and running for clay season though. The umpire was really making him mad with her timing of starting the countdown between points… scary woman.

Davidovich Fokina dropped the first set to Tommy Paul, but won the 2nd, and now just won the 3rd in a TB with a great shot. He showed early promise last year, then not so much. Maybe he comes good in 2023?

I had to look up Fokina! His looks threw me off appearing to be a real blond who represents Spain! Figures; Russian/Swede mix of immigrants! ;)
