Change in the weather now, it has been a very hot day in Melbourne players are coming off the court, rain and it is very windy

Rain delay now for all courts.

Filled by Murray, a 5-time finalist here. It's not like 102 Varillas taking out #13 Zverev, (which he hasn't yet.) Look, I love Matteo as much as the next woman, but he's not right now on the cusp of a Major win. So he might spoil, and so might Murray. As to the antics, did you see any from Murray here? I do get tired of the Murray bashing.
Just the same ones he always does, all that heavy breathing and whatnot to get to some balls and barking at his box. Well you're tired of the Muzz bashing and I'm just tired period, so let's call it even...

Zed looking older since his return to the tour. Still seems not too confident in his movement. Po thang. That has to be an awful injury to get over mentally.

He also got edema in his foot, another set back, his serve though continues to give him nightmares

Meanwhile Tennis Australia have again warned spectator's flouting Russian or Belarusian flags being displayed at the AO, they are banned. I did notice a Russian flag earlier today in the match against Rublev and Thiem

As to the ESPN pay wall, I have found a way of dealing w/ that. Late last year, for the holidays, I got the Disney+ subscription. Guess what it comes w/? All access to Disney, Marvel, Hulu and the Disney family of networks which includes ESPN+.
That’s only if you get a specific Disney bundle, which includes all of those other things. I have Disney+, but didn’t get the bundle.

I like Murray's attitude since the hips replacement, he leaves his heart on the court and just plays what he loves the most.
One of the things lacking at times in Matteo's game I feel he lacks 'that fighter instinct' at this high level, it is an important factor in a match especially when it goes to 5 sets.

and his backhand is horrible, such a weakness. What is with the tall players and their poor backhands? It's like they can't stretch their legs and play the shot right.

Yes, players used to do it more, run around the ball and play their favorite shot. Backhand is not a natural shot, is same for me, backhand = weakness

Obviously Djokovic was on the brink of retiring with his injury

thats interesting because there is also a school of thought that at least the 1 handed BH is a more natural shot.

My high school tennis coach would say “imagine giving someone a BH slap” so since slapping others must be instinctive to me my BH was always by far my better shot. ; )
