With that loss Berrettini who was defending s/final points from last year will be out of the Top 20

Muzz will come back in 2 days completely useless for anything resembling competitive in the 2nd round.

Murray's even got a split lip. It really was a boxing match.

Plus, he plays the winner of Fognini v Kokkinakis. Winnable. Get in the ice bath, Andy, then consult with Yoda Lendl.
Listen, Murray will most likely ( almost definitely) never scale the heights he once reached. I’m going to guess he realizes that by now. However it’s matches like this, where he spills his guts on the court and somehow ekes out an improbable victory why he came back against daunting odds.

Let's see:
- blowing a hole in the draw
- dropping out of the top 20
- losing the ability to win your maiden slam
- subjecting the rest of civilization to Muzz's continued antics
All of the above are relevant points to me
I'm pretty sure that at this stage Berrettini is not a hole in the draw. And how far down the list was Matteo to win this AO? Murray's antics? Did you see any of this match? You sound like Fiero. Just to keep things real.

ESPN so strapped for cash that Mary Jo and Chris (or whatever her name is) are just standing weirdly socially distanced in the middle of a blue screen set? Can't even afford a desk? Maybe I SHOULD give them my money. lol
Well they did say early on that they weren't sending the entire crew to Aus. They are calling matches in the green room of the ESPN studios in the US

Agreed, but I'm not sorry to see him do well, through dint of will to still play well. I love that he still wants to play and play well. He was the definition of a dangerous floater here, and Berrettini will rue that match point he missed. I think he's got a solid shot at the next round, if he recovers well.

Muzz should have won in straight sets he has 2 SPs in the 3rd set, how many other people except you, me and Kskate were watching the match for starters? lol!

I saw enough of the match to know he wasted opportunities with mindless errors. This side of the draw is already light. If you don't think a 2 time HC SF, Wimby finalist and big server as he doesn't leave a hole in this draw w/ his first round exit, we can't be watching the same tournament.

They've been doing that since Covid, and believe me, there will be even more of it, sadly, now that they know they can. Sadly. But it is pathetic that they can't spring for a desk on this set. Or anything that even vaguely resembles a set. This is the saddest thing I've ever seen, making those 2 women stand there in the middle of nothing, far away from Oz, talking about matches they only watch on TV like us.

Filled by Murray, a 5-time finalist here. It's not like 102 Varillas taking out #13 Zverev, (which he hasn't yet.) Look, I love Matteo as much as the next woman, but he's not right now on the cusp of a Major win. So he might spoil, and so might Murray. As to the antics, did you see any from Murray here? I do get tired of the Murray bashing.
