Ellentonboy if you are still around I did post on the WTA News Post earlier that CiCi Bellis has officially retired from tennis after 3 years,of injuries and rehab.I think it was you who asked if there was any up to date news on CiCi Bellis.

Who the Hell was responsible for putting Ash Barty and Naomi Osaka matches at night on different courts AT The Same Time?
They should be Sacked!
I bet your boy Tiley did that from his bunker. :face-with-tears-of-joy: As for sacking, well you know where we stand!

I would not put anything past 'that man' full stop. All I can say he has high friends on the board of Tennis Australia. He is not stepping down from his position at TA.

I have been thinking what do we think about teenager Emma Raducanu? further reading her team did not want her to play with hand blisters? Hmmm....I know plenty of players that have played with blisters on hands and feet.
Personally speaking I think it is best to see how Emma progresses on the tour for this year.,without making further judgements.

What a Rout Azarenka d Svitolina 60 62
I thought Vika would win, going on what I saw from both players, not like this
Elina does have a new coach, though I dont think she can use that as an excuse
Well played Vika and onwards!

Maybe the same people who are responsible for my lack of coverage in the US. When did this all go tit-up?

That was a surprise, such a rout. Also, I think most are giving Krejcikova the edge in this match v. Ostapenko, but so far....

No idea .....though either put one match on in the day and the other at night....though both ladies have had day matches
If Barty does get through and Osaka,I would imagine Barty will ask for a day match

Jelena Ostapenko wins the 1st set 62 against Barbora Krejcikova
Not surprised such a score from Jelena when she can control her aggression with her shots she is capable of such a scoreline

This is why the GOAT debate's so ongoing with Fedalovic! They managed to keep their records tight and didn't allow too many fluke wins by players outside the top echelon! Jelena wins that one FO and little else since! Shame! I liked watching her play way back when! :popcorn:face-with-tears-of-joy:

Ostapenko is just playing great offensive tennis, she is a confidence player as well, when she gets on a 'roll' she is hard to defeat
Barbora is hitting right into Ostapenko's hitting zone? Ostapenko loves pace, Barbora should use slice to break up the rhythm of Ostapenko, use more variety, which is in Barbora's tool kit

Barbora received a time violation under the new rules she took a 8 minute toilet break.Barbora told the umpire she had broke her necklace.
Play has started in the 3rd set with Jelena to serve

5 games in a row from Barbora as she has consolidated her break early in the 3rd set
Her placement on her serve has been a big factor in the turn a round in this match

Ostapenko spending too much time talking to her box and not concentrating on the match at hand
Barbora 3-1 final set
