Here's a match that no one is watching or expected in the 2nd round: Molcan (who?) v. P. Andujar. I'll be rooting for Andújar.
I was going to say they just booted the number 1 player out of the country on grounds of public health concerns. I doubt they want Novak Djokovic coming back at them saying I’m the public menace and yet you are here not even showing that you are committed to safe standards.I disagree. There is a big argument that testing is what will get us back to "normal." Clearly, you can't just rely on vaccine. I definitely think that all protocols should still be observed, but that tennis players, of all people, should be tested regularly. In my business, (film,) we do.
I just saw that score....surprised from WC O'ConnellUpset alert: WC Aussie O'Connell is up 2 sets and a break on Schwartzman.

But the lower seed won that match. ??? Anyway, great scalp from O'Connell...deserving his wc.Not to be cavalier about it, but is that such a surprise? Lower seeds are going to suffer! On clay it would be occurring more often!
It’s $7 per month. The content appears on the espn app which is easy to navigate. I’m all set. The question is whether this will happen for the other majors. I’m actually happy the sign up was so easy. Beats adding Tennis Channel Plus which seems like a more involved process.
Kyrgios as usual. You can expect him to take off a set from any top player, but that's about it. He delivers a lot of fun though and I like him for that.Didn't wake up for the first set, but this one is a good watch.
It was a LOT of fun to watch. Kyrgios is amazing to have found that level having played no tennis in ages. As you say, though, Meddie was smart to just stay focussed and all business. There was an underhanded serve, several trick shots, and the crowd was going nuts for Nick. I really hope they're wrong that he's going to consider giving up tennis after this year.Kyrgios as usual. He complained a lot in the first set begging umpire to give him a few more seconds before starting the serve clock LOL. He was also confused where his banana was asking umpire the same and it turned out he took banana with the towel after the exchange and forgot about it later He also asked for more towels and when he didn't get them on time he saw 2 new ones on Daniil's bench and snatched one while russian was not looking Just some stuff you can expect from him, all in all it was a fun match. Medvedev was locked in from the start and handled the pressure like a seasoned pro.
I think that has to do with the "hinderance" rule...foreign object from the player fell on the court. Andy Murray lost his hat once, and that was a hinderance, and it fell on his side of the court. One time the spare ball fell out of his pocket during the point, and he got a warning for that. When it happened again, he lost the point. If the dampener had fallen but not been on the court itself, I'm not sure.I don't have much time to watch at the moment, but did manage to catch FAA play in both rounds he won. He is playing awful. Tons of unforced errors, mistiming the balls etc. At least his serve was working excellent againt Fokina today, otherwise he would have lost it.
There was a strange point played in a 3rd set or something, Fokina played a smash/volley and his vibration dampner got loose and fell on the FAA field. He then won the point, but actually lost it as the umpire saw what happened. I guess it's in the rules book. What would be if a dampner fell on his side inside the court? Probably the same, you lose a point? What if the dampner falls outside of the court, can you still continue playing the point?
