The plus side for Maria in this match currently she has 20 aces,excellent serving giving her soo many free points and 53 winners,if she had converted those BP's the score line would be soo different.

I'm happy that Masha won and that she's reached the QF - 75, 75 shows how tight the match was - It wasn't a grand match - True that Masha served aces like crazy but at the other hand her usual ground stroke accuracy was no where to find - She missed a lot of easy opportunities - Next match will be against Serena Williams who had an easy road (except maybe in R1) so far - I fear that Masha is in for another disaster against her Nemesis if she plays as sloppy as in the Bencic match - Only hitting a lot of aces won't do the trick - Still - there always is always a slight hope that Masha can win vs Serena at least this time IF suddenly the pieces fall together for her

Just quickly re-capping matches between A.Radwanska v A.Friedsam and C.Suarez Navarro v D.Gavrilova.

 

Aga dodged a bullet in defeating Friedsam who played some great tennis.Friedsam was to serve for the match,had to call a trainer badly cramping in her leg,Aga broke,went on to win the match 67(6) 61 75.Friedsam was in tears,which was understandable.

 

Daria had a break in the 3rd set against Carla,then needed to show patience,also she needs to control her emotions,uses up too much emotional energy at times in a match,this is a learning curve for Daria.Carla won the match 06 63 62.

Vika defeated Strycova in straights sets 62 64,Babs raised her game in the 2nd set,Vika showed her trademark fight and determination.Well done Vika,she is on track to me to make the final,as I projected at the start of the tournament
