Yes, and now I'm really not having fun, with Muguruza out. Shame.

I do not know what the problem was with Garbine today, her whole game was out of sorts.Even her coach looked utterly clueless as to the reason.Garbine's movement was slow, the conditions were heavy. All credit to Strycova who served right into the body of Garbine or hip,so she could not get her first strike return in.I will be interested to read Garbine's presser.Of course the sun is not out in Melbourne LOL! typical Melbourne weather, one minute pouring with rain, next minute as sunny as ever.

Makarova (21) d Pliskova (9) 63 62...only watched snippets of this match, disappointed in the result in ways,I felt Pliskova could win this match.I will watch this match later on replay.

Konta the GBR player continues on her winning way defeating Allertova 62 62

Makarova winning is not a surprise, but Muguruza was disappointing today, listless.  Maybe something was bothering her? So that is 8 of top 16 seeds out already?  Vika's part of the draw looks nice now.  And she looks in great form.

Azarenka d Osaka 61 61...Vika has been in great form so far in Australia, winning her 2nd title in Brisbane.

Bad luck for Osaka she apparently picked up a ab injury from her last match, she has talent making the draw at the AO.just 18 years old,she had been restricted prior to turning 18 years of age.I will keep my eye on Osaka in the future.

I am impressed with Osaka as well.  Good serve and good backhand.

Bad news. Let's hope he's OK. I'm guessing Andy Murray's involvement in the tournament might be up in the air?

Going three in this match Madison won the 2nd set 64

Ana just broke Madison in her opening service game of the 3rd set leads 2-0

Ana consolidates the break and leads 3-0 in the 3rd set.

I have an overseas phone call and wont be able to update further scores, sad to say,my daughter takes priority over this match:)

Just finished watching the replay of the last set between Ivanovic v Keys

Keys won 46 64 64.Just a few notes. For the life of me Why was Keys attacking Ana's fhand for starters? thank goodness Keys started to attack Ana's bhand, which then allowed her to open up the court for her fhand.Pleasing aspect of this match was Keys dug in and did not go away.Keys still has to learn 'controlled aggression' she does not have to Power Hit every shot.Hopefully this will sink in sooner than later:) I understand this was an emotional match for Ana, given the circumstances of her coach, still her Ball Toss time and time lets her down, resulting in double faults at crucial times in this match.

I suppose it's good that Keys was able to change things up and go with Plan B.

I had never made the connection that Nigel Sears was Kim Murray (nee Sears) father before... a couple of things make sense now!

Disappointing to hear of Ana's issues with the ball toss. Her serve should really be one of her strengths.

Entertaining match so far between Masha and Belinda.  I am switching back and forth between this match and Tsonga vs Nishikori.
