By the way, who's everyone picking to win this thing? I'm going with Djokovic to step up to the plate and meet the Murray challenge.

I have to agree, but I hope Andy rises to the challenge.

to CAROL -- on andy sweeping away CILIC...

it is also clearly that ANDY is playing JUST like a world number one also - he is putting his game , shots, athleticism and competitiveness with his confidence so well.
it is wonderful to see andy getting his act together for a prolonged period this way. and he deserves real admiration - regardless of who our other favorite players are.

1-Andy Murray (Britain) beat 7-Marin Cilic (Croatia) 6-3 6-2

i always love the way andy goes about his interviews...i like the way he really shows he pays attention not just to the questions but to the person ..even if of course most questions and answers are ''stock'' standard ones...but i just like the way he shows real genuine polite attention. it's actually one of the reasons i also became his fan. lol.

I'm going for murray to win his 1st wtf. I feel Djokovic is still not 100% mentally or even physically. it just feels like murrays time,

today was andy's 800th atp tour match. djoko is nearing 900 matches also.

i also feel NOLE is NOT 100 percent -- but i still want to see him take this -

HISTORIC To break all records of ATP championships!! GO FOR IT NOLE!

thiem machine win 1st set in 26mins...

if thiem wins round robin match he'll leapfrog rafa as world no8 rank. (leapfrog the dog and brush me daddio). or leapfrog the capybara in rafa's case.

they were commenting on just how BIG his forehand turns out to be..LEADING in the tour , in fact - among the ATP finals players anyway.

Thiem is very inconsistent and unless his opponent is not playing well or he is as inconsistent as him (Monfils) I don't see him very successful

Thiem takes the first set in a lengthy tiebreaker on his 7th set point. he deserved to win it.

Nothing has changed with Nole, so I can't say I can be optimistic about this WTF.

I think he looked a bit better. And he improved and dug in as the match progressed, unlike last few I've seen where he has got worse after about an hour. Still not top form though but I felt the serve was smoother.I am so hoping he can do it, no secret here that I can't tolerate any of the Murrays and the press since he got No 1 has been so adulatory it makes me feel nauseous! Many negative comments now about Nole getting angry. Tim Henman commentating seems to have conveniently forgotten that he himself once injured a ball girl who had to go to hospital. Henman had to take her flowers and apologise. Amazing how holier than thou ex players get.

He didn't play No1e. Didn't you figure out Wawrinka is motivated only when he is playing Nole?

oh my god!!!

THAT was something on the back of my mind for many years -- but i always berated myself not to even entertain it becuse i thought i was being too biased -- being that i just never really liked STAN (And that was even during the early 2000's BEFORE nole and rafa became really big after 2005 - when stan was already a young player along with roger...

but i often described it to myself and in posting that stan did that whenever there was a ''threat" to roger in the draws - and stan would be all out - either beat or make it VERY draining for THAT player just before they got to roger...

and i noticed - at least to My thinking he'd do that against rafa who of course was a couple of years ahead of nole in being a big ''top rival" to roger in those early dominance years of roger...

but now - come to think of it that you pointed that out...oi oi oi...

but it looks like it does NOT need to have th e'motive'' i thought it was ''to protect my friend roger"

but just a certain 'motivation' when it comes to nole ...

i gotta watch that more closely.

i mean i still really just don't like stan - although i can't be different than others to acknowledge he's done really well in his winning majors -- Finally -

Definitely Moya is doing a good job with Raonic but this one still has to learn to have more control in the crucial points, otherwise he never will win a MS and less a GS . How he did let go away both tiebreaks?

MARY -- but isn't murray quite respectful towards NOLE, though? personally i always liked andy - including his interviews. but we know how commentators and interviewers like to FEED AND sort of ''entrap" players to say stuff..

as for henamn -- i don't understand what HIS personal thing would be towards Nole...Henman was a fine, FINE player himself though of course not at the level of the likes that get to be greats...

even for people that didn't like NOLE -- what did HE really say that wasn't either true or proper for any young ambitious player that eventually DELIVERED BIG TIME on what he said..that was hurtful to anyone?

NOTHING inall his years -- except to DARE to declare during the height of the rafa'roger duopoly

"I think there's is room up there for another player --i'd like to try to be one..and i want to be number ONE someday TOO...I want to show that I have SOME quality TOO"

what was so BAD about THAT that NOLE in 2006 or soemthing said it in the CATHEDRAL of the HOLY ROGER empire and the GOD of BULLS RAFA

battle field?

that's where i started to look more keenly into WHY the press (and ONLY then notcied it ws largely a very western press that decided who is ''embraceable andwho is NOT") --

seemed to ''depict" a ''GATE-CRASHING OUTSIDER" - meaning NOLE...
and began to sort of trace BACK ''WHERE does he come from?'

and THAT's when i started to delve more deeply into BACKGROUND - - SLAVIC, serbia, history, etc, etc, etc...and all the ''history" told ABOUT" ''those easterners" --

and i began to realize -- it HAD Connections with the 'west versus east" paradigm

serbia, russians, slavs, orthodox..

IN NO different way than the \''incscrutable, untrustworthy chinese"...in the other side of the world.......

in other words -- ALWAYS inferior and 'OUTSIDER PARTY CRASHERS| ".

and any chance some DIG - some sly putdown of nole can be brought up - hey someone is going to do it.

in any case -- GO NOLE!!
