As I predicated before the final Kvitova v Pliskova it was a closely contested match
Pliskova's serve went astray at times in the match,when she needed it,though what impressed me she stayed calm,focused and played good offensive tennis.She is a good striker of the ball,her bhand is her better wing,good 1st serve and she can volley.She took her game to Petra and didnt go away in the match at all.
Petra still tends to lose focus,to me that still is a concern in her game,also through the match she appeared at times to have low energy.In the 2nd set she started well and I thought the score line might be a blow out,though to Pliskova's credit she re-grouped.Petra was leading 5-1 in the 2nd set t/break and through loss of concentration and bad shot selection she let Pliskova back with a chance.Petra had MP on her serve,her good 1st serve won her the match.

A very entertaining doubles match from both teams,there were breaks of serves in both sets of tennis.
What impressed me was the good form of Bethanie,she played aggressive tennis,her ROS was sharp,her serve and volley play.To me she was the player of the doubles match,Mirza too was solid.
I was delighted Bethanie was a part of the winning doubles team ,since she is coming back on tour,after having hip surgery last year.
BTW I was correct in my predication of both the singles and doubles finals at Apia.
