he didn't look lucky when he was crushing Novak. That was brutal superiority. Luck shouldn't be anywhere in any sentence about his achievements

Pretty small... Was Sampras 30 or 31?, Agassi... Not sure about the old schoolers like Laver, Rosewall etc... but let's discount them.

I do think that their is a higher age threshhold for top level chess than a few decades ago

I don't really go with the "should have won" unless they flunk a volley on match point... If Stan did win then we could have said "Fed should have won", he was two sets up.
