lady marchioness have been to the castle yet? check out some of the latest andy murray pics that I just posted there.

also pick out a castle for yourself. any castle anywhere in the world. we will display it along with your name at the opening page.

take a look at our opening page there. it is pretty damn cool. you will be impressed.

An aside ...

While any castle, anywhere in the world will do, I don't think the Marchioness will have any difficulty finding one in Scotland:

There are some grand castles in there, and I can't wait to discover which one is Iona's.

Don't be kidding me. Spain has an entire region called "Castle." (Wikipedia says Spain has 2500 castles.)

Though, I do love the grid of Scottish castles. Very handy. I can't wait for Iona's pick.

" Is Andy more marketable now than he was 2 weeks ago? Yes. Do I think Andy’s endorsement portfolio could jump to $74 million a year? The simple answer is no"

This is exactly what I said also. Glad you finally agree.

"Andy is in a unique position with regard to the UK market."

This is exactly what was meant by "the rest of the world" remark.
This thread is about his marketability and earning potential.
Why didn't you say that he is in a unique position with respect to
the international market. I suppose, it is because you agree with
the intent behind my remark even though you perceived a
non-existent slight of your guy by me.

I think you’re misunderstanding my responses to you. We agree that Andy’s endorsement portfolio won’t jump to $74 million a year but for very different reasons. For me it has nothing to do with his marketability outside of the UK. Nor do I think his ‘personality’ or his lack of a ‘good’ one as you put it has any impact on him becoming a global ambassador for any company. If Andy took up every endorsement offered to him then he probably could earn $74 million a year but it would leave him no time for tennis. I’d love to know just how many sponsorship deals Federer has turned down in his career. A fair amount I’d imagine.

I was making a specific remark about the UK market. That was not to say that I agreed with your comment about "the rest of the world". In the global sport of tennis Andy is 1 of only 4 men that have won 2 or more slams in what 10 years? That will make Andy attractive to global brands, especially ones targeting say the UK market. Murray is already set to be a global ambassador for Adidas. Nike have Nadal and Federer but Adidas tennis is really all about Andy Murray right now.

Anyway, I’ve already spent way too much time on this topic and I’m still in too much of a good mood to continue with it. We’ll just agree to disagree. :)

I would imagine Andy could do just about anything in the UK at this point. He could probably endorse football and rugby kits! ;)

(I hope I used "kits" correctly there. Let me know if I didn't.)

There's no such thing as a tough task for a Scot, no? Be bold. Show us there can be only one Marchioness Iona!

Unfortunately, they have already sold out. My sources tell me one Scottish woman snatched them up within minutes.

I have a feeling that he is on to something huge. there is a tremendous demand for a hero like him around the whole globe.

this man will be able to move products.

he is honest, down to earth, normal, articulate, and tall. and he is from Scotland. that never hurts.

he is looking like a people`s champion.

being the best player on the planet will only propel him further.

watch what happens once he snatches the u.s. open crown.

Yes, "kits" is absolutely correct.

Well, I took my task of selecting a castle very seriously. I'm afraid I went 'historical'. Apologies, it's a Scottish thing. Keep an eye on the future but never forget the past. Hope everyone likes my choice. :)

RE: the great dunblane warrior is the hottest property in our sport

people are lining up left and right on andy`s side:

1. lendl says andy has nole under pressure. what that means is that andy is the favorite for u.s. open crown

2. Sampras likes andy for the title at flushing meadows

in the coming days becker, wilander, and rafter will most likely declare themselves to be in andy`s camp if they have not done it already.

I have a feeling that henman is also going with andy for the u.s. open crown.

andy`s stock is not just on the rise. its on a tear.

expect new endorsement deals lining up like there is no tomorrow.

andy murrray--the great dunblane warrior--is the future king of tennis.

the only question---at least from my own vantage point---is this:

when will it actually happen? when does this deal go down?

I will go on record right now and say that he is the next king of our sport. and it may be sooner than later.

regardless of what the rankings say if andy wins the u.s open, he is the new king of our sport as far as I am concerned.

what do you say? you have the floor.

Clay will probably always be a problem for Andy. That makes it hard for him to get to #1.

And his poor performances on clay make it hard for him to be called the best player in the game. Right now there's one player who can succeed everywhere, it's Djokovic. Andy (and Roger) have hard time on clay, Rafa struggles on fast surfaces.

As long as Andy can't start making semis or finals on clay on constant basis, he just can't be the best player in the game when there are guys like Nole who succeed everywhere.

Tennis: World no.2 and British no.1 Andy Murray is all set to feature in the Rogers Cup ATP Masters 1000 tournament in Montreal as he landed in Montreal and had a first practice session with France's Richard Gasquet.

The Dunblane native uploaded a photo on his Facebook (social networking website) account in which he is seen hitting with Richard Gasquet and his coach, former world no.1 Ivan Lendl is looking at him.

Murray wrote a caption with the photo, "Hitting with Gasquet today, Ivan just landed and keeping an eye on things!"

Yesterday former world no.1 and French Open champion Rafael Nadal had also uploaded a photo on his Facebook account after his practice session with Richard Gasquet.

This will be Murray's first tournament since becoming first British player since 1936 to win the Wimbledon crown. He had won Wimbledon last month after beating Novak Djokovic in the final.

Andy Murray and Richard Gasquet have met 8 times on tour and Andy Murray leads the head-to-head between them by 5 matches to 3.

Tennis: Former world no.1 and French Open champion Rafael Nadal and reigning US Open and Wimbledon champion Andy Murray had a practice session on court together as they did hitting in Montreal.

The British no.1 posted on his Facebook (social networking website) page that, "Hitting with Rafa Nadal on a sunny and busy centre court today... and the football season has finally started!".

Andy Murray is playing his first tournament in Montreal since becoming the first British player in 77 years to win the Wimbledon crown. This is also first tournament for Nadal since Wimbledon. Like Murray made history at Wimbledon, the championship was unforgettable for Nadal too, but for negative reason.

For the first time in his career, Nadal lost the first round at a Grand Slam in 2013 Wimbledon. Nadal was handed a shocking first round loss by Belgium's Steve Darcis in straight sets.

Nadal and Murray have been working hard in Montreal and both have been doing some good hitting and practice sessions. Nadal had a practice session with world no.9 Richard Gasquet day before yesterday, when he reached Montreal whereas Murray also did the same with same player, Richard Gasquet on the day he reached Montreal.

They know eachother quite well as they have met 18 times in their career. Nadal has won on 13 occasions and Murray won on 5 occasions. Both have met twice in Rogers Cup but on both occasions it was in Toronto. Murray won in 2010 and Nadal won in 2008.

Nadal and Murray, both have won the Rogers Cup twice. Nadal won it in 2005 and 2008 whereas Murray won it 2009 and 2010.
