Andre is wading into some murky waters. Rafa has a positive h2h over Nole, but it's thanks to a 13-3 advantage on clay, where Rafa is the undisputed GOAT, in my mind. Nole leads 14-7 on hards. On grass it's 2-1 Nadal, and that includes Wimby 2007 where Nole retired, but maybe shouldn't have even played because of injury

The "injury" was blisters. Let's not overstate it. That was still back in Nole's "someone breathed on me so I'll retire" phase.

So which way does that cut here? Does that make it one of those "weak competition" victories that many like to discount? To me, the most important fact is that Rafa owns 2 Wimby titles to Nole's 1, so he gets the edge on grass.

No weak competition. Novak was legit even back then. Obviously not the player he went on to become, but already the 3rd best player in the world. He was also down when he retired. It doesn't matter what kind of victory it was since Rafa didn't end up winning the tournament that year anyway.

Poor Roger, if only he had been mediocre on clay and not reached any FO final other than 2009, he's have a 17-3 record in slam finals and likely 5-9 H2H with Rafa and Agassi would not be spouting what he is spouting. LOL

Andre Agassi put his 2 cents in recently concerning "The Goat" and he follows McEnroe is his thinking that Nadal is their choice for greatest ever! IMO no one will care about their H2H if Rafa never acquires 17 or 18 majors! The physical and mental toll is already showing and I don't think he can make it! Andre Agassi says Rafael Nadal should be considered the greatest tennis player ever, not Roger Federer.

Agassi made the comments in an interview with Singapore newspaper Straits Times, saying Nadal's achievements are more impressive because he has had to deal with tougher competition.

Federer has 17 Grand Slam titles to Nadal's 13, although the Spaniard leads his Swiss rival 23-10 in head-to-head meetings.

Agassi is quoted as saying that "I'd put Nadal No. 1, Federer No. 2," adding that "it's just remarkable to me what he has done, and he has done it all during Federer's prime."

"Nadal had to deal with Federer, [Novak] Djokovic, [Andy] Murray in the golden age of tennis," said Agassi, himself a former world No. 1. "He has done what he has done, and he's not done yet."

Good try, on your part, Fiero, with keeping it to Compare Players. It's just that it was on two other threads, besides yours. I don't think anyone should feel hard done by that the threads were merged, because clearly, folks wanted to talk about it.
