20 or so minutes ago, I thought the long late match last night were telling on JM. Then he broke so forcefully. Now the momentum is to back to Nole.

It looked like an upset was on the cards at the end, but Novak hangs in and guts out the result.

DEL POTRO YOU MUG!!!
He had every chance in the world, was up a break in the decider, but just didn't bring out the intensity that was required. The burden is on Nadal now.

Yeah, this field is tough all the way. Klizan-Del Potro-Kyrgios in a row. Pretty crazy.
It's an especially strong field this year, but the top half is particularly loaded. For his WC, Djokovic was dealt a tough hand.

don't be so harsh with him, he did what he could, don't forget it's only his second 2017's tourney

Del Po was the 1st to be touted as good enough to break into the "Big 4" way back in '09, but he's about as brittle as they come! He just can't stay on the court long enough to make a lasting impression! He doesn't have that many wins over them, but when he does it's BIG! DP worries me more than the rest of them with that FH! It doesn't matter if you know where it's going; it's just tough to track those down again and again! :nono :cover

Once I got over the frustration because of Delpo's choking, I forced myself to watch the highlights.
His forehand is literally unplayable. Hahaha.
He needs to recover that backhand, to be able to hit winners even occasionally. The slices he hits are so weak even this powerless version of Novak can hit them for winners on demand basically.

Very difficult to recovered that backhand, or maybe his wrists are still bothering him or he has afraid about it could happen.

Hey PM I noticed that although JMDP slices his backhand..it was somewhat effective because it was deep until Novak time it and ran around it to crush it for winners..JMDP still makes the game of tennis very uncomfortable for Novak..he does it a ton better than Rafa could have ever imagine

This Nishioka is a kook! Hopefully Rafa rights the ship soon.
