Here you go folks. WTA is not sitting quiet. They simply decided to let go of the
current generation of players.

WTA's Plans to Curb Grunting

Comn, its from June and its just talk. I can post that too and I have no role in the WTA.
Facts are they put grunting on center court prime time tv. They cheat ;)

It is actually from June 2012. As I said several times, they have decided to let go
of the current screamers.

^ It's by William Weinbaum, not Bodo.

As for the article, it doesn't provide much hope. Sure, they talk about trying to change things with young players, but are they really? I hope, but it will be years before there's enough evidence to prove they've been effective.

In the meantime, some players will continue to emit sounds which can exceed decibel levels at a rock concert.

Thanks for the correction. I fixed it now.

It is not enough if they merely talk to young players or simply encourage them. They
need to enforce the rules starting from some point. I think they don't want to infuriate
the current top players who are grunters. They will probably start enacting and enforcing
the rules at a point when no top player is a grunter. The problem with this strategy is
that if new grunters keep on coming, it will delay the onset of new rules.

Is this a strange coincidence that the article appears on ESPN website just a couple of
days after we are having discussions on this topic or are they reading our forum?
Perhaps, I am delusional in estimating our influence.

I guess they're just afraid that some fans can get too excited lol

So? It cant get worse than these sick insane screams. They will improve the noise quality

hahah I would 'improve the noise quality' with pleasure! Simona, you are on a good way. At the next tennis game you know what you have to do. ;)
