Seriously, I can't get my head around the records this man sets. The 9 & 10 may never be matched, but who knows?

The 14 may have been reached long ago, but for injury.

5 in a row in Paris, it was great to see Borg presenting the cup. This was the toughest one, I think, and I wouldn't be cocky and think there are more. 9, people! 9! It's fricking superhuman! :clap :clap

9 is most certainly impressive, but Nadal should send Federer a little "thank you" card for a couple of those.

Here's an interesting fact too Kieran: Next year is the 10 year anniversary of Nadal's first French Open title and first ever Grand Slam. So we could see Nadal win his 10th French Open title (Six in a row) 10 years after winning his first French Open title. Amazing to think about...

Incredible, Rafanoy. The man is unique. I'm not saying this to put anyone down, but we should appreciate him because the style of play he has, many said he'd be burnt out and finished at the age of 25.

The 10 might be even greater, since it's the greatest record of consistency in tennis. I thought 8 was gonna be the limit, with Borg, Pete and Roger, but 10 consecutive years of winning majors is staggering.

By the way, I know it's none of my business, but I'd love to know what Rafa said to the great uncle T when he went among his people...

I dont think in my life time we will see anyone winning 9 titles at Roland Garos

I was there live in 2005 to witness Rafa's first RG title, also 2008,2010,2011.

I am still coming to terms with this victory from Rafa.................

Words escape me.....( and I am a women:)

I for one never thought this, even though John McEnroe must have said it 4,000 times from 2005-2008.

A lot of people thought his intensity and style would cause him to crash and burn. Plus, his propensity for injuries. But he's still at the top and hopefully has another two or three years chasing majors in him...

Why only 2 or 3?

There is precious little evidence that there is anything to worry about from the 19 to 24-year-olds. Do you really think Raonic would trouble a 31-year-old Nadal at Roland Garros?

No, but one concern I had since the US Open last year was that he seemed to lose his appetite, or motivation. Seeing that return spurred me on this week, but it's only natural that the grind of the tour may affect his appetite at some stage...

Then you would appear to misunderstand Nadal almost as much as Broken or Tented when they say "based on Nadal's current form, I can't see him possibly beating Novak".

The guy is characterized by rapacious ambition. I have been saying that since Day 1 of observing him. He will win 25 Slams or more if he can.

It's not impossible that he wins a few more, but bear in mind, if you think he'll win "25 or more", he's only won 14 by now - and he's going to almost double this? Unlikely, bro, and for me he's the greatest player I've seen. But not even Rafa is winning 2 slams a year for the next 6 or 7 years...

I didn't say that I think he will win 25 or more; I said that he has the mentality that he will win 25 or more Slams if he can do it. That was my response to your concerns about his motivation dying off or fading away.

Well, to be clear then, you don't think he'll win 25. So something's gotta give, right?

Anyhow, I'll settle for a couple more, I'm enjoying this man's story better than anyone's. Even you, buddy, who rarely say much good about him, have to admire him in a lot of ways.

This is the Rafa-Lurve  thread - share with us! :clap

I have always complimented Nadal in certain significant respects. I contend that I have always understood his success better than anyone else. I just dislike and resent the extent of it, given how he has acquired it.

But have you ever seen me come out and boldly predict that he will lose a big match? No, you haven't, because I have not done so. There is a reason for this.....

What is so interesting about Nadal is that he keeps fighting back. I mean just look at it, ever since he retired with a knee injury against Murray in the 2010 Australian Open, he has reached 12 Slam finals and won eight of them.

Then, Djokovic beat him in three straight Slam finals (including the 6 hour match in Australia). Now, he has won 4 straight Grand Slam meetings against him.

This guy keeps fighting back. It's like the more you hurt him or stab him, the better he gets.
