Give it a rest, Carol. Not everything is a measuring stick for Nadal. Fognini is both very talented and wildly erratic, so he's not really an indicator of anything.

I hope Andújar just has a niggle and not a real injury. He's been playing well this clay season.

When a player (it doesn't matter how good can be) is playing bad then is giving the opportunity to anyone to look like "superman" . Any profesional player has to be a good player, otherwise they couldn't be in the ATP ranking. Fog is a good player like many others are but not with too many titles under the belt or maybe I should say almost none, they can surprise to anyone one day having a very illuminate day or the opponent is playing very erratic but that's all. Fog wants to win like everyone but he is not able to do it too often and that's why we don't see him in semis and finals too often either :cover
:puzzled

Among the three itsy bitsy tourney going on, Munich stand out in the sense that each and every one of its quarterfinalists are interesting.

^ I'm assuming Murray will pull out of the doubles ...

If he wins both singles matches, he surely will.

If he loses in singles before that, he might not.

But this is Murray we're talking about. He'll probably play three or four marathon matches like it was nothing. Until Madrid starts.

Especially for the two making the final. Not so much for those who will lose in the QF.

Still, not great for the guys that make the SFs, and play two matches on Sat. That could leave you a bit wrecked.

I know, that was my point. Those who lose the first match tomorrow, not such a big deal. For the other 4 much more demanding, especially those who will play on Sunday too.
2 of the 8, are not entered in Madrid: G. Melzer, but he was lucky to get here in the first place, benefiting by a LL card, a bye due to Monfils WD, and a retirement by Andujar, so his journey normally will end tomorrow.
Estrella Burgos is the other, who will not play in Madrid.
