Glad to see Rune pull that win off...Grigor is playing really well, and I like him, but one of my hopes for this year is that Rune takes it up a level. Still (not-so) secretly hoping he can maximize his potential and turn the (young guy) Big Two into a Big Three.
Until Rune sorts out his physical issues in his matches, I am still out on him, shoulder, wrist etc, I have to agree with Don Fabio he took a MTO when Grigor had the momentum, not the first time he has done this in matches by the way
I feel his team has to look closely at his strength training in the gym, his physical issues has been going on for sometime now
Yes he is talented, but his physical issues I feel are holding him back.

There was one point in first set TB, longer rally, but not a lot of running and Rune can't catch a breath after it. He sends Bernandes to check the mark, you can also see he done this on purpose to gain more time, he leans on towel boxes, gets a needed rest.

He can't win big matches like this, top 10 guys are all physically on a higher level. It's a liability which he and his team had to sort out already and worked on it, but there seems to be no improvement.

Strangely enough he looked less tired than Dimitrov in the second tiebreak....

So Medvedev can be an ass and call the umpire and idiot without getting a warning and Rune gets one for hushing a disrespectfull audience...
And next the umpire calls a ball in that the linesman called out and Hawkeye shows is out...omg.
I know Rune can be a brat but this is just crazy.
Congrats to Sinner. Great play.

Rune is still acting like a jerk, same like Meddy did the other day. Match is finished, he is going out and can't raise a hand to the crowd? Instead of that what he does, he shows that hand sign to crowd like you can still talk, he did the same when he got the warning.

I am glad he lost. This should have ended in 2 sets if Sinner was not too anemic of 0:40 in 2 games in 2nd set.

In this particular case where Little Holger got a warning because he was supposedly disrespecting the crowd it was a bit much. The Chairs are all over the place with their subjective selecting of minor infractions.

Im not usually a fan of “good loss” mindset, but Rune did well versus Sinner and understandably was playing on fumes. He’s close to that top 5 level but the inconsistency is an issue, ages 20-22 are when the great ones usually break through. People automatically assume a 20 year old should be in peak physical condition but that’s a work in progress and it can take awhile to navigate your body/fatigue & injuries at that age.

Umpires are inconsistent I agree. Still Rune should accept it and play on. He does the opposite and calls for a Supervisor. That was a joke and again disrespectful to the opponent because Sinner is on another side with 0:30 on Rune serve waiting for his BS to finish.

He played better today than against Dimitrov, but Sinner also played one of the worst matches recently, blew up many chances and still managed to win. If he played more with a killer instinct in the 2nd set it would be an easy victory.

I want to see from Rune that his tennis does the talking. He has a lot to prove still and a lot to improve too.

Scratchy match with Djokovic and De Minaur.. I lost count of the consecutive service breaks in the 2nd set. At the net Alex congratulated Novak and said, “Well that was ugly!”. Novak laughed and agreed.

I called out Meddy the other day for his 'continual carry on' in MC, he has lost my respect until he decides to get his focus back, also I have not seen any improvement in his game plan, since he hired Gilles Simon, I am still waiting

Due to his QF loss to Sinner, Rune a MC finalist last year, will drop out of the Top Ten, Sinner will remain at No 2 ranking
I am certain this is just temporary, he is too good of a player to be out of the Top Ten.
