The fact that it took him 81 minutes to beat a hampered, 37-year-old Djokovic for one set I think is a bad sign for his chances over a 23-year-old world #1. Let's see how badly he really wants it. Can he play outside of his comfort zone for 4-5 hours, and leave everything on the court?
I don't put too much significance on how this set went. Zverev is known to play down to the level of opponent, many times we've seen him struggle in earlier rounds and lose matches. He played an all time great in his first SF of AO, there's got to be some nerves. Quality of that set was not good from both guys.

Sinner is a good match up for Zverev, reason why I like Zverev's chances, but Sinner is playing amazing HC tennis in a last year or so. That said, Zverev will have to play a match of his life and give it all. Hope it will be enough.

Quite frankly I was 'amazed' that Novak posted his MRI scan on social media, for all the people that didnt believe he was injured. I will go back and look at it more closely when I have time, first glance I could not read it properly.all I could see was a large dark spot inside his thigh
I don't know what releasing his MRI scan is going to achieve. This is a player who said in his quarterfinal if he'd had lost the second set to trail Alcaraz by 2 sets to 0, that he would not have continued.
Whether he was injured before during or after his QF is only known by him.

Then in the semifinal vs. Zverev, he says if he'd had won the first set that he would have played on "a few more games" . A sensible move by Novak would have been not to take to the court at all versus Alexander and enable the crowds including the ones that booed him the option to get a refund according to Tennis Australia's current policy.

BTW does Novak also hold any scans to back up his absurd " poisoned food " claim during his 2022 quarantine to silence his haters ??? :nono:

Sinner gets the break. Zverev's volleying has been less than ordinary. Needs some net tips from his brother.
He was a great S&V guy, considering how much tennis changed. Mischa achieved a lot with his style of play. At times it felt like S&V is not completely dead yet.

Zverev hanging by a fingernail. He barely won this service game at 1:1 in 2nd. Lots of luck.

Wow, Zverev is going to feel like he had every right to win that set, except that he didn't.

That netcord in TB at 4:4 probably crushed all Zverev's hopes today. He did up his game, but still not doing enough on Sinner's serve.

Zverev looking a bit discouraged. Not going to leave it all on the court?
