OMG, Tsitsipas just lost to a guy who was cramping the entire 3rd set TB. Literally could only limp. Granted, Medjevkovic is trending these days, but this has to be a new low for the Greek.
He’s a lost cause, completely. saw him trying to instruct his missus from the players box recently and she was like, WTF?!

Agreed! I was just discussing to the family that it's so strange Serbia only has the 1 Davis Cup when they do have quite a few good players outside of Djokovic! Serbs have owned tournaments the last week performing quite well in singles & doubles; actually coming back from the :rip: in the case of Kecmanović against D. Fokina in Delray Beach! My Uncle was talking about driving down to check out the final since we were so close in W. Palm Beach! Mr. K. was the same guy who took over Djokovic's spot in the draw when deported "down under" 3 yrs. ago! He won 3 matches, going down to Monfils in the 4th Rd. IIRC! Djere was the only player to take a couple sets off Djokovic when winning 2023 USO; more an exhibition in their 3rd Rd. match! Serb players who usually can't finish, have "of late!" :thinking-face::face-with-hand-over-mouth::fearful-face::yawningface:

Serbian Top 5:

7. Novak Djokovic (37)
42. Miomir Kecmanovic (25)
69. Hamad Medjedovic (21)
97. Dusan Lajovic (34)
101. Laslo Djere (29)

Interestingly, the next guy is ranked 438...so quite a gap. But five players basically in the top 100 isn't bad for such an itty-bitty country.

BREAKING NEWS: Serbians minutes after El Dude said they're an "itty-bitty country!"

I opened this thread to post exactly that. Saw the footage. Tsitsipas barely acknowledged him at the net, at the end. Must of felt completely humiliated.
Tsitsipas is not known for showing grace in defeat.

Fonseca started the match completely off -- and he still is, Muller is a fine player, and I guess he will end up winning this, but once Fonseca started to play a bit better you could see the look of fear in Muller' s face.

The Brazilian crowd is so utterly disrespectful that I am almost rooting for Muller

As expected Fonseca had a let down and lost. Credit to Muller who barely made an error all night, and played some very good points on top of that.

What's even worse is Tits is a resident of Doha. He, more than anyone else in the draw should be used to the conditions as he and the missus train there. His form is worse than Meddy's. Really can't trust either one to beat nameless scrubs let alone Top 20

Tsitsipas is this generation's Nalbandian.
Well, Nalbandian occasionally had a bit of swagger about him and could face down the Big 3, but both are prominent in a long line of flops since 2003. I would say Safin is is maybe the biggest disappointment since then. Sissypussy was never going to be a champ, but Safin was a serious player, when he focused on the game..

Wake up Alcaraz you were cruising in your match against Nadi winning the 1st set 61, and lost the 2nd set 64! you were leading 4-1 then lost focus and Nardi raised his level and won the 2nd set.
Alcaraz wins in 3 sets 61 46 63

Djokovic and Verdaso lost their doubles match to a seasoned doubles pair in Heliovarra/Patten No 2 seeds 75 64
Meaning that Verdasco will finally, retire at age 41, Djokovic now will prepare for IW

Berrettini v Griekspoor next, hopefully Matteo can keep his good form up, after his great 2 set victory over Novak yesterday, though Tallon is a tricky opponent and holds a 1-0 H2h against him
