Charleston Tuesday,
Good to see Miami champ Danielle Collins continues her good form with a 61 64 win over Paula Badosa, ground strokes, returns and first serve all working well today in the match,
Earlier
Sloane Stephens had a good win, 60 62 over Frech, Sloane will play Leylah Fernandez in 2nd round.
Towsend d Kenin 63 63

That was borderline difficult to watch as a Cornet fan. She looked like she was being tugged here and there and put off balance by the sheer power of the shots coming at her. Kudos to Amanda as she did what she can do. Alize looked outdated.

By the way, last night Madison Keys was beaten by a 21-year-old Romanian girl named Jacqueline Cristian, and the young Romanian was impressive. She showed determination and grit. Assuming Emma Navarro witness today, that will be her opponent in the third around and that will be an interesting match I should think.

Quite frankly I thought Cornet was going to retire the tour last year, I think this year will be her last

Well I suppose she wants match play on the clay for the up coming clay season, still there is a silver lining Halep didnt get one :)
Did Simo ask for one in Charly? I suspect the next place she will be given one is Stuttgart. I remember they gave Pova one after her sentence was reduced.

Banshee could send Ons to Stuttgart early and she will lose a ton of points as she's defending champ here

I am not sure if she asked a WC in Charleston, today she received a wild card for Madrid

It wont surprise me if Ons goes out to Collins, in her first round match, regardless of Ons being the defending champ, she is not 100% healthy and continues to play on

After a very delayed start at Charleston due to heavy rain day matches were completed Wednesday
The stand out win was Taylor Townsend who defeated the 6th seed in Alexandrova 75 62!

Love that Emma won and now she will play Cristian from Romania! I look forward to that match, as I think we will see more of these two succeeding.

Danielle Collins continues her great run and defeats the defending champion ( no surprises) Ons Jabeur 63 16 63! at Charleston
Danielle has now won 18 of the last 19 sets she's played. 9 consecutive wins.
