Carlos could not find a solution today. He tried, but just not good enough. They played some close matches before. Jarry looks like a tough match up for Carlitos.
Jarry is a character. Workmanlike. A journeyman of sorts. Not much emotion when he plays, but he has some nice weapons. Always with the breathe right strip on his nose.

Well taking the title in Rotterdam he will move up to No 3 and can make a move for the No 2 spot in the weeks ahead.
Between now and the end of Miami, Sinner is defending 1,260 points and Alcaraz 1,910 points, with all those points dropped, Sinner would only trail by 535 points.
Sinner has a big chance at IW, where Alcaraz has to defend 1,000 points and Sinner just 360 points
Jannik has a 6-0 h2h with DeMinaur. The Aussie is playing with a lot of confidence. Still don’t think he will be able to make this match competitive.

I would like to make a constructive point regarding Charly, disappointed loss today, though Jarry deserved his win,he hasnt made a final since his loss in Cinncy last year
JCF really needs to improve his serve for starters, it has been missing when he needs it most.
Yap, Alcaraz is trending down and he has huge amount of points to defend in a next few months.

Roddick recently said how his serve is the weakness and needs improving. I agree, it can be better. His rally game still needs some patience and pace control, I feel he is hitting too hard every ball he gets. There is nothing wrong with change of pace and putting some loopy or slightly less strong balls to the opponent and see what he can do with it. He almost never gets to the grinding mode, but that stuff wins points and matches if used right He still has a wonderful touch, soft hands as we say, probably the best on tour with Rafa.

Turning into an overranked mug, ever since he fluked into the upset at Wimby.
Alcaraz record since Wimbledon.
0 for 9 in tournaments.
And only reached 1 Final (a loss to Joker at Cincy).
In his first event after winning Wimbledon, he lost the QF to Paul in Toronto.
Then, the two-time Grand Slam winner lost in an epic final at the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati last year to Djokovic. Losing a marathon match in gruelling heat may have affected the Spaniard's mentally, as his performance levels have seemingly dropped since then.
Alcaraz then lost in four sets to Daniil Medvedev in the US Open semifinals
Before losing to Sinner in the last four of the China Open.
Thereafter, he fared poorly in both the Shanghai and Paris Masters, losing in the third and first rounds to Grigor Dimitrov and Roman Safiullin, respectively.
Both of them were big upsets, Dimitrov's good run in 2023 notwithstanding.
He then reached the semifinals of the ATP World Tour Finals, losing to Djokovic.
He was ousted by Alexander Zverev in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open.
And, he has now failed to defend his crown in Buenos Aires.

TL;DR -- Carlos Alcaraz = Overranked Mug Walking Bye

:lol6: I loved the way Jannik grabbed the little girl‘s hand as they hit the court. She seemed to forget herself waving to the crowd and began drifting left when she needed to go right. It was gentle but deliberate. He will be a good dad when the time comes!

Sinner has the break in the first. Playing within himself. DM is playing with good confidence, but he’s having to go for more than maybe he’s comfortable with and Jannik capitalized on it.

DM is a player that will not go away, quite frankly I find him annoying at times:) to me his best surface is on a HC,

Scratchy play from Jannik. Credit to DM. I remember who Alex face reminds me of. Wendy Turnbull when she was still playing.
