Ughh. Stubbsie & Pam are dissecting Coco's FH in the studio. :face-with-symbols-on-mouth:
Well Renea Stubb's comments were similar to what I posted earlier in regards to Coco's feet and her stance..Coco is too far from the ball to hit it with that slow racket head speed. Pam doesnt know dilly about what's going on with Coco's FH..it's not her grip . Iga uses the same damn grip but she uses shorter steps and closes her stance with exceptional extremely extraordinary racket head speed. Coco will be a monster once she gets it but it's gonna take some time to build confidence. Damnit. Kenin PLAYED great but Coco should have been the victor.

Agree, I have been saying that all the time with Coco's fhand, when pressured on her fhand she goes to water, it can be sorted out easily, for the life of me I dont know why her coaches havent corrected by now.

Grass is such a tricky surface, it makes you play shots that your dont normally play on other surfaces, also with a short turn around from clay and grass is such a short season, makes it hard for some players to adjust their games accordingly
That is why I have always admired the Great Martina N on grass, she was 'one of a kind' on grass
I never really liked the short turnaround from the French Open clay to the Wimbledon grass. They need to experiment having Wimbledon in August next year, and possibly the US Open in October. I'm not really interested in Masters events, especially international ones, in between the US Open and the WTA Finals.

If there needs to be tournaments in the dead of summer after the FO, then move up the October Masters events there.

Jimmy Arias was the first person I heard mentioning it was a footwork issue in Eastbourne

At presentI cant see them changing it, though I agree it is still a short tunaround and grass season is very short compared to the other surfaces

Agree with Arias Coco does at times arrive later on fhand, though it is the swing she needs to shorten as well,on her fhand

These people act as if Coco is the only player with weaknesses. Why are they not on Pegula's behind for only winning two titles for all her 29years because they are scared of her money. They go after Coco because she is so open and personable. Some of them it's like they are getting back at the sisters for the way they ignored them. The commentary is borderline racist.she doesn't owe them anything and even if she never wins a slam she will be okay. These elderly people have no shame to harp on a child like that.Shame on those fossils in ESPN booth.

I dont think it is racist Tossip, yes of course other players have weaknees in their games, though they were talking about Coco's game today against Kenin, and yes it was her fhand a lot of the time which let her down, though it can be easily fixed, I have said that many times,

Tossip, I agree with MM.. Everyone loves Coco and always have. I have NEVER heard any player or former player make any bad remarks about her. Look at it the other way, if they didnt care they would let he crash and burn like your Denis the menace.. Everyone wants Coco to be who she can be which is a grand Slam title contender and winner.. IMO.

These people talk about it daily as if Coco doesnt know it,trying to embarrass her, imagine being told daily that you are weak in the end you end up believing it.She doesnt need these old folk to harp on her everytime she hits the ball.Arias at one time was on Tiafoes arse, and Annacone had to chide him because he was going on and on criticizing Tiafoe. We all know her forehand is her weakness and with time she will correct it .

Tossip Coco is not Weak, she is a gifted athlete, she is a very good volley player, has good transition to the net, a solid bhand her best shot, though she can improve her fhand, that is all, players know it is her weakness and keep hammering her fhand with results, yes she can improve it with the correct adjustments, I just hope her new coach adjusts her fhand accordingly, that is all, we all want to see Coco reach her potential.

I think Coco’s upset of Venus in her Wimbledon debut overshadowed the fact that’s she’s not really a top grasscourt player.

As I said before and I will say it again
Grass is a tricky surface, your forced to play shots that normally on other surfaces you dont normally have to play,
Grass season is short, and the turn around from clay to grass is short and some players can transition well and others find if difficult
That does not mean that players who have lost today in their first round matches cannot improve their grass play
Coco still has doubles to play with Pegula they are the No 2 seeds, Coco has a solid net game and is good coming to the net on grass, a must on the grass
I would not right her off because she lost to a qualifer in Kenin who has come through qualifying matches to play the first round
If people actually watched the game you could see that Kenin was 'grass match fit' compared to Coco who didnt have a full preparation on grass.
Remember Coco is just 19 years of age, she has time on her side to improve on grass!!
