Given that we are possibly headed for a #1 seed v. #2 seed final, clearly Novak has the easier path. I don't mean to downplay the possibility of upset by our boy Sinner, who is young and evolving, and Cam Norrie would have the crowd, if he gets through, but lets be real. Rafa will likely play Fritz and Kyrgios to get to the final. Much harder road, even if he makes it.
You know I have always been of the opinion, that sometimes in a draw, especially at Grand Slam level it is good to be tested before heading into the business end of a draw, so far Novak has not been tested as he heads into the q/finals.A harder road for a player to reach a final, in my opinion, prepares a player better for a Grand Slam final, just my opinion., and does not necessarily go against the player.

This to the point that ATP and WTA took away the points from Wimbledon, in reaction to Wimbledon excluding players from Russia and Belarus. Which I think you were also against. Anyway, I was. It was a game of chicken, and no one blinked. Wimbledon made their, IMO, very pointless choice to exclude some players in reaction to the war in Ukraine. Has it had any effect on the war or will it? I think no. In support of its players, ATP/WTA took away the points, hoping to force Wimbledon into changing its position. Wimbledon didn't, so the players' councils didn't change theirs, either. Nothing good came of all that posturing, nor ever will, if you ask me. Wimbledon/UK should have stayed out of it in the first place, in terms of involving the tennis. There is not useful point that I can see.
100% The tournament really missed Medvedev, Rublev, Karatsev, Khachanov and Ivashka to name the highest profile players banned on the men's side. I must say though I laughed my ass off at how it backfired on them with the points deductions and Medvedev back to number 1. A Russian number 1! Serves them right. Djokovic got royally screwed this year between AO points (that was his own fault, mind you at the AO when he knew their policy/requirements) and Wimbledon and now quite possibly the USO also though who knows if they'll buckle cos scientifically it makes zero sense and, though I'd usually never advocate listening to Fox News, Nigel Farrage has it 100% spot on here and echoes what I've been saying.

At least the French and USO officials have not taken the 'crazy path' like Wimbledon to ban Russian and Belarus players.
Freezing of points, at Wimbledon, really hurt lower seeded players, looking to improve their ranking at these Championships,to no avail.Prime example was Tim Van Rijthoven, who now has to go back to qualifers, or reply on wild cards to try to get points and improve his ranking

Yup, the banning of points was a real low point but good that no other tournament organizers had the audacity to ban players from Russia and Belarus.

Nick K has been rubbing his shoulder, had to take some pills at the end of the 1st set which he lost 64
Nick K to me is playing too passive at times.First time I have seen Brandon play, I like his focus and composure on court, not getting into any arguments with Nick if he decides to put on his 'antics' lol!
1 set all...play just begun in the 3rd set.
Nick has called for the trainer again, trainer massaging his shoulder area at present. The one thing with Nick is he dosent play the whole tour and playing the best of 5 at GS you need to be in top physical form, Nick is not known to be a serious trainer.

Nick probably having a hangover from the last match. Let's see how he responds here against Nakashima who is a solid player.

I abandoned that match in the 3rd, thinking it was well over.

If Nick can take this 3rd set to a t/break he has a good chance of winning it, still Brandon has been impressive on serve I must say
