I live with a Sampras maniac, who still cant get over the fact he has been retired lol!
He also hates Roger Federer, for being Pete at Wimbledon lol!
Tell your husband that Pete played a good match but he underestimated Roger's grass court game. Pete should have played like Agassi was across the net. Yet I agree 100 percent Pete had no business loosing to Roger. Although now we see it's no shame loosing to Federer's Wimbledon grass court game.

Dear saying Johnny Mac hands were good is like saying Halle Berry's face and body is aight.. jajaja. Johnny Mac hands were Davinci of volleyers. I have seen him pick off volleys that no other human could attempt..very similar to Stephen Curry.markmenship accuracy shooting the basketball, no peers. IMO
BH volley: Stefan Edberg, those volleys were divinely inspired….

For the first time since 1999, 4 Aussies are in the last 16 of Wimbledon, Alex de Minaur, Jason Kubler, Nick Kyrios and Ajla Tomljanovic
( 1999 it was Wayne Arthurs, Mark Philippoussis, Pat Rafter and Jelena Dokic).

I bow to no one in my admiration of Stephen’s pure shooting, but I present the original Pistol Pete, still get emotional when I recall Pete Maravich

Calm down okay whatever you say......still the best match was my idol Borg playing Mac, remember That Tie break to end all t/breaks
I loved that match, I also play it every now and then
Did you ever see the version, I think it was for the 30th anniversary of it, where they watched it together and commented on it? It's a good watch. In it, John said that people come up to him all the time and mention that TB, forgetting he had lost the match, so memorable was that TB. He also said at that time that he had never before rewatched the whole match, though he was often subjected to parts of it during rain delays at Wimbledon, as he is a commentator, and that one is of the GOAT matches.

I don't think there was much love lost between them before this match, and I don't suppose this improved things. Given their ages, they could become the grudge rivalry of the tour. Maybe it will help inspire Nick to stay in the game.

Sonego had a issue with Rafa, Rafa apologized at the net....something to do with grunting
What next is it just me or are some of the current players ' a little precious"?
I would love to unleash Connors in his hey day he would not put up with being precious?
He wasnt named ;The Street Fighting Man for nothing lol!

Here's a link to 3rd set highlights. Anyone curious can skip to the 4-3 game on Rafa's serve. You can see that Sonego's grunts were coming when Rafa was going for the ball. He complained to the umpire, (I think of hindrance,) at the end of the game (in which he was broken,) and he called Sonego to the net, and talked to him about it, very unusually. Then they had a chat about it at the net, Nadal trying to explain himself and vice-versa. It got long, and they seemed to agree to talk about it later.

I see Sonego doing a female version of Maria Sharapova? who used to grunt as a hindrance? you know I have watched Sharapova in practice on courts many times and she never made any noise just on court.

I'm sure we will hear more about this, but Rafa did speak to the umpire prior. Perhaps he felt like it wasn't being dealt with. Funnily enough, in the Kyrgios match, it is exactly what the McEnroe brothers were suggesting that Stephanos should do...speak to Nick directly, if he felt like going through the umpire wasn't working. And I mean in the middle of the match. Listen, Lorenzo, you were a day late and a dollar short on being too "distracted" in that match.

Wow. Badboy Nick wins over the Greek heartthrob. I am a bit surprised, not that he is any less talented. I thought one bad call, one bad umpire decision and Nick would implode. That was not the case and GOOD FOR HIM. I am NOT a fan of bad behavior, not on a tennis court or in life. But he held it together, and to be honest, I am a bit surprised he won! Good for Nick!

I don’t know that I would speak to Nick directly for fear of what diarrhea of the mouth would say.

So, in your opinion, who will go the furthest? Just curious, as this is a running debate. I think Paul is the most gifted. Tiafoe the most naturally talented. However I think Fritz is the best trained. So what do Tennis Frontier members think? I am not that educated on this Forum to create a poll and I don't want to get in trouble with the moderators but I am curious as to what everyone thinks...
