That was a shot he needed for the mood.

That's the problem with being 35.5 years old. It's hard to stay focused all the time and keep the same energy level throughout a 5 set match. Federer experienced it and Djokovic will experience it in the future

Hey, Djokovic has gone walkabout for a set on most of his mature career, so Rafa can pull this back for sure.

He seems low energy. Needs to find that gear again.

I think the key for anyone playing Rafa going forward is to keep it close. He gives me Serena when she is in a close match now. She gets the jitters and anything can happen.

We will see if Nadal is able to find his return of serve game.

If you are Nadal, do you give up on this set? Or do you put your energy into it to try to win it, and still possibly have to play a 5th?

If ultimately blame must be laid, I will not use Rafa’s tentative play, sluggish footwork, UFE’s , DF’s or missed opportunities. It is ALL Rafanoy1992’s fault. He dared mention what should not be named. He might have even said it 3 times….

Rafa, think of Toni, and that winning tennis involves suffering.

I HATE the Australian Open! Brokenshoelace declared the tournament cursed years ago, and he was right.
