This is going to be a repeating theme for a # of players; esp. if they're on a winning streak! The more you play and practice, the more stress on the arm and back! For me I not only had to deal with tennis elbow, I'd pull a stomach muscle ever so often! Must have been pulling an "Edberg," really arching my back in a groove on the serve! :anxious-face-with-sweat: :face-with-hand-over-mouth::face-with-tears-of-joy::fearful-face:
Did you read my thoughts on the 'let serve' I was watching DC on the weekend and,I am over 'lets' in our game,if it lands in the court just play it!

I've always thought it silly to keep replaying a "let!" I was one who hit the ball really flat on the 1st serve! I could pound the top of the net repeatedly when in a groove! Early on as a teen, my game centered around the serve! Juniors couldn't handle it! I have long arms & legs, so it was easily my most powerful shot! :face-with-hand-over-mouth: :fearful-face: :face-with-tears-of-joy::anxious-face-with-sweat::facepalm:

I agree regarding the 'let' one of the players hit 3...2 of them landed in the court,it should be allowed to play on

They've always played lets in WTT from the getgo, and I believe no-add scoring. I thought one of the ATP Next Gen tourneys had some of those rules a couple of years ago? :thinking-face:

I thought they were testing it out to see if the regular ATP Tour would adopt the practice to shorten these matches that can go on forever!

See, your serve would pick up so many cheap points off the net chord that they prolly stopped having an official sit there with his finger on the net because your serve was stinging his finger! But really, there are very few lets in a professional tennis match. I don't mind if they change the rule on this one, and I'm generally a stickler for tradition. But it might be more trouble than it's worth to change the rule. Tennis isn't broke, so don't fix it, might be the best policy...

Dominic Thiem has withdrawn from Indian Wells and Miami.
Prefers to start back on the clay, where he's still the most comfortable
He says 'the wrist is fine'.
BTW it has been 10 months since his last match.
It's a confidence builder.. Every one thinks they can swim when in a swimming pool. However, to swim in the sea or the ocean, you have got to be a great swimmer. On the clay court, Dominic is a great swimmer.

Well, he's a very good swimmer, I'd say, but he's also a good swimmer on hards. And everywhere else. I'm not too sure what his rationale is here, unless he's nervous about coming back? This is understandable, but the best way for a good swimmer to face his fear of drowning is to dive into the pool, and swim...

This is worrisome. You can tell me all day long your wrist is fine (but we know them pond waters is full of gators).

I agree with this. If Thiem is healthy, he should get back on competitive courts. Lose a few matches, get your legs under you, then you'd be more ready for clay. Something is not right here.

In regards to Thiem not returning to the tour till the clay season,I have to agree with your comments 'something is not right'
He posted the announcement on his Instagram page,he also said his hand was right.Last time he decided not to return to the tour a few months ago,he stated he was having 'pain in his hand'.
Even if he went out say in the first round or two in IW and Miami to me he has to get back on the tour and test it out.

And I'm no one to schedule for him, but if he played IW and Miami, he could then play a 500 on clay in Houston, then really be ready for MC. Doesn't really add up.

Agree it is strange,I haven seen if he has confirmed any clay court events as yet.
Just went to his official website and it states next tournament TBA

To me, it's either physical, or mental. Doesn't make sense not to get back into the mix, if he's physically ready. There is only one 500 available on clay (either Houston or Morocco, but they are played the same week,) before he gets thrown into a pretty heavy clay schedule.

Well the only way to test yourself both physically and mentally is to enter a tournament it has been 10 months since he has played.
