For all we know, they might be doing Novak a favor by cutting his schedule even more than he wanted! We'll see how he holds up w/o extra work! ;-)
Well he will be turning 35 in May,so reducing a schedule, due to COVID etc, might be in his favor, still you cannot keep a good playing level without playing consistent tournaments....we shall see.I would think in 2023 the tour hopefully we get back to normal

Maybe the drugs are working?

Matts Medicated Wilander (via eurosport),

" Zverev should be banned from big events. You can't allow him to play the week after or 2 weeks after, that is too soon."

Matts need to get a life.. If he was so good he would have been able to cross the pond and make it on livestream US television networks, He is just an old fort that is lucky Johnny Mac faded so quickly and Lendl had no plan B game to stay with him. Dont get me wrong, Matts was a talented player but his comments are a bit Bi Polar at times.

Agree, though this time I have to agree with Matts,Zverev should not be allowed to play in up coming tournaments,at least IW and Miami after his digusting behavior towards the umpire in Mexico

I wonder if Marian Vajda based his decision to part ways with Novak Djokovic last year, because Novak is unvaccinated?
He also said on (twitter) ...as a unvaccinated player,he will have a limited number of tournaments, and he already has a strong team with Goran Ivanisevic. After considering all the circumstances,we decided by mutual agreement that we would end our professional cooperation.
Well things have changed regarding COVID and vaccinations,Novak will be allowed to play Monte Carlo and Roland Garos this year, also Wimbledon, with other tournaments eg,Rome looking to relaxing their vaccination status.
I'm late to this conversation, as work was mad at the beginning of the week. Splitting with Vajda (again) seems strange to me. Vajda has been super-loyal to him, and been with him for most of his Major wins and otherwise career landmarks. He's been willing to take a back seat to Becker and Ivanisovic. I find this mysterious.

Yeah, the timing of the split is interesting and mysterious.

This will be a joke/sarcasm: Vajda should either join Nadal's team or Federer's team

In all seriousness, one player that should at least consult with Vajda is Sinner. The young Italian just recently split with his former coach, Piatti so he will definitely needs a voice in order to reach into a higher level.

Well the decision was made after the finals in Turin,I feel Vajda who said Novak being unvaccinated, would not be able to play a lot of tournaments in 2022,maybe that was also a fact that made his decision to not coach Novak in 2022,he already had Goran as another coach in place.
BTW Jannik Sinner's new coach is Simone Vagnozzi

Ah okay, I did not know Sinner hired a new coach.

I believe you have mentioned that a couple of times.
Good I wont have to mention it again.
Tsitipas has also hired another coach, though again I will not mention it for a second time

Not sure if it was posted, but Wawrinka announced his comeback for Monte Carlo and he says he still has fire in him to compete and train hard.

I'm not sure anyone is quivering in their boots. Stan is 36 and currently ranked #237. I guess he's getting a WC? I wish him the best, but there is going to be a lot of rust to scrape off, and the draws will likely be unkind, even with WC entries. (See: Murray.)

Well, if not Sinner, why not Tsitsipas, who needs to dump his dad?
The reason I did mention Tsitsipas is because it feels like he does not want to fire his dad as a coach. He does have a coach now, however; the primary concern for Stef is his dad a coach.

I see what you mean. I was disappointed about JMDP retirement that I am not ready at this moment to accept that Stan is completely done. I don't expect him to win anything big, but just to compete and be able to do the last swan song and retire on his own terms. JMDP was denied that chance.

Oh, I hear you, and I didn't mean to come off as cynical. Like @Jelenafan points out...it's a very powerful 1HBH, and we all want to see it again. (Hell, we're waiting for Thiem to come back, and his isn't even that penetrating or hard to hit through.) We were all crushed by the JMDP retirement. And, besides ol' grumpy Fiero, I think most of us are happy to see Murray make what he will of his late 30s and those bionic hips. Not very long ago, the top 100 had no teenagers, and had a pretty high average age-range. Now the chickens are coming home to roost. Except for (maybe) the Big 3, and the ever-youthful Feliciano Lopez, the old- mid-guard are starting to drop like flies.
