today Verdasco lost to Federico Coria.. Y'all know who is olded big brother is... Guillermo who was once the best clay court player on the planet... I wonder if he still plays or practices with little bro...

Big bro is still involved to a limited degree. He was in the stands last week when Delpo played his final match.

It's amazing looking at the two of them. Rafa was more than the heir apparent. Players such like Nadal prove to be too strong and powerful for the slightly built Guillermo

The group stage of the Davis Cup by Rakuten Finals will be moved to September from 2022 based on the feedback from players regarding late season finish.
The group stage will take place across four cities for the first time in 2022.(an increase from the previous three cities).
While the Davis Cup by Rakuten finals themselves are set to be hosted in November in one location, yet to be announced.

Another early exit in Doha for Shapo. Meanwhile, FAA moves to the QF in Marseilles after dismissing France's 3-time champ Jo Willy.

Jannik Sinner has announced that Simone Vagnozzi will be his new coach moving forward and he will be heading up my team.( Jannik was working with Vagnozzi before he headed to Dubai tournament).

It just goes to show you that if you get an opportunity to seize a Major you may not get another "best" chance. Guillermo "el mago" (the magician) Coria was soon overpassed by Nadal. 2004 FO was his best chance. Never made another final.
I'm sure Andy Roddick in hindsight doesn't think his 2003 USO title (age 21) was too soon as it was the only one he got before you know who started his dominant run.

Only time will tell if Zverev and Tsitsipas will look back and rue their "best chance" blown; ie both losing after having had a 2-0 set lead in their respective Major finals.

It’s becoming a thing with this generation, isn’t it? Losing from 2 sets up, in 3 of the last 7 GS finals. We hadn’t had one since 2004? There was one in 1999. Don’t remember any others. Need @Fiero425 to help us here. But it’s fairly common now…

Katie Haas has been promoted to CEO of the Western Southern Open!
Haas is currently the only female to hold the chief executive role at such a professional tennis event.

Tsitipas had no business loosing RG 21.. poor chap had just been notified the passing of his grandmother if I recall correctly.. Kieran right , there's been numerous 2 set blown leads especially in late rounds, FAA vs Medvedev. I think Thiem was up on Novak last year at AO..

It is quite common these days! It's even happened to Rafa a couple times believe it or not! When both Sascha and Stefanos had those 2-0 leads on Djokovic, I had no doubt he'd manage a comeback! They're much more apt to defeat Rafa or Novak in BO3! Nadovic can each find a way in BO5!

Not to Rafa in a final. I think we're talking finals here. But yes, in theory, Bo5 favors the better player.

Thiem was up two sets to one over Djokovic in the 2020 AO Final, not two sets to love.

Watching Khachanov and RBA in Dubai! Someone's used up from previous rounds, giving out bagels and breadsticks; now making tons of UFE's! How is it RBA can play so well one day, actually test the mettle of Djokovic, then look so bad against others not in the top 20? Too weird! I guess the same can be said about others like Wawrinka who terribly underachieved winning just the 3 Majors and 1 Masters event! :-)2:exploding-head::face-with-hand-over-mouth:
