Karatsev out in his opening match in Pune. So "The Karatsev Open" will have a surprise winner. The quarterfinalists are from all over the map, Musetti is the second seed, but it is probably not his best surface. Surprised it was Elias Ymer took out Karatsev, in straight sets, after coming through the qualifying. Great effort from him.

Novak Djokovic nominated for the Laureus Sportsman of the Year Award. Six finalists, including NFL star Tom Brady (go Bucs!), who is retiring at the end of this season. Should prove interesting who they select when the announcement comes in, I believe, April?

Andy should self-medicate at this stage, he knows enough, or bring Lendl back for one last foray. Glad to see him persevere though…

The self-indulgence of this guy taking spots from more deserving players in a draw can't be emphasized enough as far as I'm concerned! I'm sure most will say he has more drawing power, but he knows he's wasting his time! He might upset another "oldster" or "up and comer," but the days of major wins are over! Playing for the fun of it would be ok if there weren't so many others trying to work their way to his past status! :facepalm::ambulance:

The days of major winning for about 97% of the field are over - did you not read the memo? Fedalovax have won 137 of the previous 138. But people love to see great players and Andy and Stan are the +2 of the Big 3 era. I think Andy is also very popular, so he'll draw a crowd more than most youngsters. I doubt he thinks he'll win a slam, but he's on the verge of breaking back into the top 100!

It will be interesting to see how he comes back. He's got a lot of catching up to do to get to top shape, I would think.

100% agree. BTW, I wonder if Stan is coming back?

I think he is defending 500 pts in IW as well, also I read apart the hand injury,he has come to light he has pain in his ankles.

I have to think that Dani's team (and his sponsors) are no more excited about this that Novak's are about his downhill skiing hobby. But, hey, freedom of choice, right? Have fun! And, as we say in show biz: Break a leg! :face-with-tears-of-joy:
