They were playing in number 1 court which has a roof. I think their match would have been suspended too if it were in outer courts.

BTW, Heather had MPs in that match and then lost it.

Yes she did not play a warm up grass tournament,hoping her hip is fully 100% okay,after she had to retired in her 2nd rd match at RG
Also Serena Williams who also did not play a warm up grass tournament,
Hard to gauge either form on grass until they play their first round matches

Serena never plays a grass warm up. Always practices hard for 2 weeks on HC and then comes to SW19 a few days beforehand to practice on the grass. I thought because they hadn't played on grass in 2 years and she hasn't played many matches this year, she would opt in for a warmup, guess not.

We'll just have to see how this works out. I hope she's fit and calm, but she has to feel like time is running out, and I don't see the pressure getting any less. Ever.

I also want to see if Kerber who recently won the German tournament can produce the same form at Wimbledon
Bianca Andreescu will little time spent on grass,has a tricky opponent in Alize Cornet
The RG champion Barbora Krejcikova whose game to me,translates well on the grass will play the talented teenager Clara Tausen.

A great point made by Chandra Rubin on Venus Williams being put on court No 3.

"Yes I understand Venus hasn't won Wimbledon since 2008,however she is a 9 time Wimbledon finalist,winning 5 of these.The fact is if this was Roger or Rafa they wouldn't be on this court no matter rank".

For the life of me I wish Sam Stosur would retire from singles and just concentrate on doubles,grass for her singles play is her worst surface,apart from playing in Australia on a HC.Sam Stosur is also in Aussie team for Tokyo Olympics.
