It didn't "stick," you just like it. Who else uses it? That's on you. I don't see any rule about opaque or insulting nicknames, but I do think that we have the right to complain about them. We have our opinions about them, and why not? We have opinions about everything. I used to tell Bonaca that I didn't like him calling Zverev a "fake German," for example. Didn't mean he had to stop. Just my opinion. I'm not sure what you think is in any way cute or clever (or even original, since you say it didn't come from you,) about calling Muguruza "Garbage." But if you must, you do you. But some of us find it offense, and we're within our rights to say so. Though it would surprise me if you find it completely perplexing why "Garbage," as a nickname, seems like an insult. Is that wholly lost on you?
If members can call each other "asshole" in a forum, there is nothing wrong if a player is called "Garbage" (at least the player is not reading them); Moreover, I believe the term "Garbage" is less offensive than several terms being used by several members in this forum.
As for how the name came in, it was just because her name which is starting with "Garb" and you should know that. Many members including admins called Fucsovics as "fucks"; Also, how about people calling the young greek "Shitsipas"; I have never seen you revolting and going on a crusade over that. What happened to your fine sensibilities there?
“Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.”
