It didn't "stick," you just like it. Who else uses it? That's on you. I don't see any rule about opaque or insulting nicknames, but I do think that we have the right to complain about them. We have our opinions about them, and why not? We have opinions about everything. I used to tell Bonaca that I didn't like him calling Zverev a "fake German," for example. Didn't mean he had to stop. Just my opinion. I'm not sure what you think is in any way cute or clever (or even original, since you say it didn't come from you,) about calling Muguruza "Garbage." But if you must, you do you. But some of us find it offense, and we're within our rights to say so. Though it would surprise me if you find it completely perplexing why "Garbage," as a nickname, seems like an insult. Is that wholly lost on you?

If members can call each other "asshole" in a forum, there is nothing wrong if a player is called "Garbage" (at least the player is not reading them); Moreover, I believe the term "Garbage" is less offensive than several terms being used by several members in this forum.

As for how the name came in, it was just because her name which is starting with "Garb" and you should know that. Many members including admins called Fucsovics as "fucks"; Also, how about people calling the young greek "Shitsipas"; I have never seen you revolting and going on a crusade over that. What happened to your fine sensibilities there?

“Opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one and everyone thinks everyone else's stinks.”

I find Garbage 'highly offensive' applied to anyone period.Especially when it is applied to a women on the WTA forum,I would also find it "highly offensive' if it was on the ATP forum.

Horrid start from Ash 3 DFs and she is broken.
Move your feet Ash,that would help :)
Breaks back straight away.Ash needs to slow down a bit and get some rhythm on her serve for starters.
Barty breaks to love,Ash needs to be more aggressive on the ball, not wait for the ball to come to her.Ash is good when she makes the transition to the net.
Surface today seems much quicker than yesterday.

Ash broken again too tentative 4 all
Ash breaks and will serve for the 1st set 5-4.....not a good match at all from the No1 player, will need to improve in area's of her game if she is going to go deep in this draw
Barty 6-4 1st set.

Ash again donates her break in the 2nd set with a DF...2 all........again Ash too tentative the match is on Ash's racquet, she is making hard work of this, when she does not need to.Ash needs to come forward more to the net, also dont wait for the ball to come to her.I feel like a broken record when I keep on saying this.

Ash gets another break in the 2nd set leads 4-3 lets see if this time she can consolidate.....I am still not happy with the way Ash is playing.,her footwork is like she is stuck in mud at times.
Ash's ball toss is too low commits a DF.....this is her 5th deuce on her service game
Blinkova with her 4BP.....bhand wide
Praise the Lord Ash with an Ace and eventually Ash holds 5-3
2 Bad linesman calls against Ash on MP.......

Barty d Blinkova 64 63.........Ash needs to improve in area's of her overall game if she wants to go deep in the draw.

Coco wins the 1st set 64 over Vesnina.....quality tennis from both players,Coco's serve has been the highlight of her match so far, hitting her 1st serve down the tee, with variety, 7 aces so far, shows great composure for a teenager.

Coco with an early break in the 2nd set...3-0....at the moment Vesnina is taking a MTO on court,it is her lower back, she has not played on grass for a few years,I think her lower back is telling her:)
Play has resumed.
One thing I have always liked about Vesnina she always has a smile on her face, unusual for a Russian :)
Coco with 1MP
Vesnina DF and Coco wins the match 64 63....nice to see Vesnina back on court after 4 years
Well done Coco!

Tuning into the 3rd set between Ostapenko and Kasatkina
Ostapenko won 1st set 61
Kasatkina won 2nd set 63.....

6 games all in the 3rd set.....no tiebreaker,if we get to 12 all there will be one.

MP for Ostapenko she wins continues her good form on grass, being the winner of Eastbourne, just recently
61 36 86 over Kasatkina (31) ( Daria served twice for the match btw)

Okay I need to take a nap back later.

In a roller coaster match The Latvian Thunder defeat Kasatkina - in a very unpredictable 3rd set with lots of twist and turns - look at the UFE and Winners from Ostapenko. Sometimes she plays like a Ferrari and other times like a food wagon - today was BIT of each.

thats my Vee..she knows whats up.I wish Osaka is as strong as the sisters.
Hopefully Osaka or any other female players EVER has to endure the scrutiny that the Williams Sisters has over the past 22 yrs .

Aussie Tomljanovic (g/f Italian Matteo Berrettini) had a good tough win against Alize Cornet in 3 sets (64 06 63) to get into the 3rd for the first time since 2014.

Just watching the tennis news desk on TCC and was shocked to see Alexandra Stevenson sitting there "towering" over Chris Evert! OMG, I thought it was a wrestler like Blac Chyna from the old WWE! :anxious-face-with-sweat:
