I believe first ballot inductees have won at least 3 slams and had a stint at #1. Others have to wait awhile, but will likely get in at some point.

EDIT: I went back and looked it up here . It's quite detailed
Thank you so much KS...

If memory serves me correctly, isn't there about 3 or 4 players such as Roddick who has won less than 2 slams ?

Right. But I don't know if he was a first ballot HOF. And if memory serves me, I believe the rules have changed.

A-Rod got to #1 for a minute! As a USA player, he'd make it even if he never won that lone USO with his MOJO that was lost soon after! :face-with-hand-over-mouth::facepalm:

What he said last year is that if forced by the choice of vaccination or not play, he'd have to think about that, IIRC. It will be interesting to see how he and some of the others will react, because he's far from the only one who seems opposed, or reluctant.
I think it's Novak's and Front's right not to receive the vaccine vaccination shot. He should skip AO and prepare to defend his RG championship. Novak should reach out to Dr. Front to be his pr person for his Antivacca campaign.

I Know it sounds disparaging but enough is enough.. Novak and Front have done their research and it's their right to be one or two less than the over 6 billion who have received the vaccine.

If you think it stops w/ Aus, think again. Lately, if one slam does something, the other 3 will follow suit to some degree.

Melbourne is still in lock down with high numbers of the Delta Strain, the health minister has said he would advise all tennis players coming into Australia to get vaccinated before the AO starts in January 2022.

You really think they'll bar Novak from doing "down under" to defend his title if he refuses to get a Covid vaccination? Priorities? History? :exploding-head:

The Nets just banned Kyrie from practicing or playing locally in Brooklyn until he gets vax. Novak is just another player without an exemption.

Priorities, indeed. Public health over tennis? I think so.

Just a quick question on that. I thought Martinez only had won Wimbledon, but no other grand slam. How did she get in then? Just curious, maybe other factors are taken into consideration?

There are other players with just 1 major! That's all Conchita has OTTH and never even played another major final that I can think of!

Andy Roddick's in, and he only won one. Safin 2.

They should only induct every five years or so, if that’s all they can come up with. With that list, they’re inducting players just to induct them so that they can have an annual ceremony. Really, though, all they’re doing is lessening the whole endeavor.

Thiem looking great. I hope he can perform well next year and nab a slam or two.
