Andy Murray "Gutted to share that I wont be flying out to Australia to compete at the Australian Open. We've been in constant dialogue with Tennis Australia to try and find a solution which would allow some form of workable quarantine, but we couldn't make it work".

I'm very sorry to hear that.

Watching TCC and they're playing 2000 Stuttgart SF with Kafelnikov and Hewitt! I remember LH having long hair, but the dark ponytail's a mystery! Who knew this was the end of an era and the beginning of a new one; though short? Sampras was on his way out as #1 and Lleyton ascended the throne later after destroying him in the USO Final the following year! :-)2

Portugal's Joao Sousa has withdrawn from the AO.Sousa tested positive for COVID-19 before his departure but has since returned a negative test and is asymptomatic.
"Even though I already tested negative and have no symptoms, due to the strict rules of the Australian government,I won't be able to travel".

Following extensive consultation between the players and the Tours,Tennis Australia has designed a new schedule, taking into account the limited time many players had to prepare.
The Murray River Open,The Great Ocean Road Open and the ATP Cup will be pushed back 24 hours.
The two ATP 250 events will commence on Monday February 1,each featuring an increased draw size of 56,while the ATP Cup will start on Tuesday 2nd February.

That means it will be only a four day event or will they put the final on Saturday, Margaret?

Shorter event with fewer teams and not having to fly cross country back and forth as they had to last season!
Well they had to shorten the event and not play around Australia due to border closes with most states of Australia ., due to outbreaks of COVID-19 in different states..,which by the way are still closed in different states.

That's interesting. Gunter Bresnik is task master. Monfils seems to be serious about the last chapter of his career. I like it!

Nadal: Some Need To Make Public Everything They Do.

www.tennisnow.com/Blogs/NET-POSTS/January-2021-(1)
Being the antithesis of either Nadal or Djokovic fan , I'd say they are both correct. Nadal more so.

Djokovic comments/demands has certainly turned into a media-beat up, but you got to wonder, would it have been
were it not for his various controversies throughout last year.
At any rate, i believe he had his heart in the right place but perhaps
as Nadal suggests, he should have kept these private.

It's going to be good weather on friday too, following the wild , both ends of the extreme, we have had to endure sunday and monday here. It's seems a stroke of luck that the top players picked adelaide to quarantine and train here.
