After left foot surgery in March, another one for Stan Wawrinka, ( poor guy he cannot get a break).
We need to start being more realistic! This is getting more and more frustrating as time goes by with standards that aren't realistic with what Fedalovic has done for almost 2 decades! Past champions can't hang on into their 30's normally without time catching up to them eventually! These 3 are freaks of nature we'll probably never see again! Other 30-something's need to just bow out and quit looking for sympathy when it's really their time to leave the stage! There shoiuld be nothing strange about being a step behind, incurring more injuries, with plenty of doubt that accumulates over the years! These people should have other things to do! We make it seem like a death sentence to retire from the game!

Seeing there is one more GS to be played after Wimbledon i it will be interesting to see if Wawrinka plays, retirement maybe not that far away quite frankly.

The spectator limit for the Olympic Games will be set at 50% of venue capacity,up to a maximum of 10,000 people at all venues.
Residents of Japan will be allowed to attend the Olympic Games this summer.
Wearing of face masks is mandatory.
Spectators may clap, they cannot yell out or cheer.

I heard people cannot go from other countries to watch Olympics.

Not sure how much they took this p@ndemic seriously in Japan, but the way they crowd 1 another, I'm surprised they weren't dropping like flies!
At the present time it appears Japan has the previous COVID out breaks under control. We have to learn to live with COVID and there will be outbreaks world wide, even here in Sydney we have a recent out break in an area of Sydney, people have to get tested and self isolate for 2 weeks, masks again are mandatory on public transport and indoor area's.

The knee rebab is going well for Juan Martin Del Potro, according to the doctor's plan but he suggested to go on with his rehab process and training and skip Tokyo Olympics.

Nadal,Bautista,Ramos,Lopez,Munar,Alcaraz and Granollers don't want to play Olympics. So Spain will likely travel with just 3 singles players,Carreno,Davidovich and Andujar.

Spain's roster is so deep, even if 10 of them withdraw, they can still send a full contingent.
And imagine how happy they'll be, after thinking they would never get this opportunity. If Carreno Busta, Davidovich, and Andujar want to go to Tokyo, then let them go. It could easily be a once in a lifetime experience.

thiem 5-2 up in mallorca but retired with hurt wrist. no further news so far.

Thiem anyway will not do anything on grass. Few years ago, I remember him losing to an unknown Indian guy Gunneswaran in the opening round of a warm-up grass tourney (might be Queens). He might as well sit out and cure the wrist.

I agree with this. It used to be said, and may not quite still be true, but, not long ago, Spain could field 3 fully competitive DC teams. PCB, Davidovic and Andújar...if they added Marc Lopez, they'd be competitive in the doubles. Either way, it's probably as good a team as most countries will field, including France and maybe Australia. Probably Russia and Italy are top, if their best play?

Davidovich Fokina had to retire in his match yesterday against Pospisil in Eastbourne.
