Just looking at the ATP Lyon match schedule for Tuesday 18th
Match of the round for me is Jannik Sinner vs Asian Karatsev.
Good to see Tsonga back playing Tommy Paul.

Updated changed schedule for Roger's match against Andujar, it will be the 3rd match of the day (approx 4pm)

Should have avoided Geneva too.
My schedule was perfect to watch that match until they changed it to earlier. Just caught the first set and last games. I'm not surprised that Roger went out early, with so many good and more match ready players in the draw, but didn't guess it would be Andujar. I guess that unless they both play another 18 years, Andújar will retire with a winning record over Roger. Now he's really got something to tell the grandkids.

In Lyon tournament it has been raining on and off
Good to see Monfils win a match been awhile
Tsonga bows out to Tommy Paul 63 63
Sinner's match has been rescheduled later due to the weather.
Sinner's match has been cancelled and will be play tomorrow due to the rain in Lyon

Both Federer & Serena are embarrassing themselves. They should just have the wisdom to retire, they are legends but this is just sad to watch. :negative:

Amen & hallelujah to that! I'll have to catch the repeat of the dismissals! Venus is right in there totally embarrassing herself with no shame! :face-vomiting:

I think Roger made poor scheduling decision avoiding tournaments when all he needs is matches at this point. He has been out of competing for 1.5 years, it's almost like he is coming out of retirement. It's very hard plus his age. He could have played all tournamets after Doha and slowly get to level where he wants to be even if it means getting out early in the process.

He worked the system to keep his lame arse in the Top 10! I'm disgusted and so disappointed in him! The longer he hangs around the worse for him IMO! Connors did it for some reason; saying "for the love of the game!" If they really loved the game they'd exit on top instead of floundering like this! Martina, Chris, Graf, and BJK did it right! They knew their limitations!

It won't last forever, he is about 250th in the ATP race. There will be plenty of poor high seeds in this RG. Fed, Med and Shortman, you just can't choose who is the worst at the moment.

I think he was trying to decide between matches and his "new" knees, and he has been saying for a few years now that clay is not great for them. I figured he'd at least get a few matches in at Geneva, until I saw his draw. Depending on his draw he might not even go deep into RG. That will put a lot of weight on his playing grass to be ready for Wimbledon.

Medvedev for me:)
With his attitude, for sure. Everyone is hoping to end up in his half. With a decent draw to start, Roger could make it to the 2nd week, I think. And I still expect Schwartzman's game to improve, though we shall see.

I NEVER seen Roger so uncomfortable on the tennis courts..Did anyone noticed how frustrated he was with his backhand..He will eventually get his timing back but will it be in time to make a real challenge at SW19...I hope so..

I really shouldn't respond to this trollishness and bile, but it is on my last nerve. Who the absolute f*ck are you guys to sit on your duffs at home and tell these great champions that they are "embarrassing" themselves? Last I checked, Roger was a point away from the Championships at Wimbledon, last time it was played. And Serena has made the SFs at the two most recent Majors. Is this what you call an embarrassment? There are people who embarrass themselves in tennis, by bad behavior, or by poor results v. potential. But neither Roger, nor Serena, nor Venus is amongst them. You're entitled to your opinion, but so am I, and I think these hateful posts are without merit.

Timing isn't the issue! That BH doesn't hurt anyone unless Fed catches it on the rise and it goes away from his opponent! This is clay which is why he's lost match after match to Rafa on the surface! Nadal's FH rolled right into that weak side; SORRY, but those are the facts! Federer and his fans are whistling past a graveyard thinking this is going to end well! If he turns it around and takes Wimbledon, that'll shut us up, but I wouldn't bet on it if I were any of you! :face-with-tears-of-joy:
