I don't think that's right, but they did top 900 today (only)...in the entire state, and remember that it's a large one, not just "noo yurk citeh." (Nice one, btw.) We have opened things up a bit, and it's summer, and frankly the youngsters are being a bit incautious. Could also be down to more testing. There were 9 new deaths across the state. Sad, but not what we were up against 2 months ago. Here in NYC, things are pretty tight. No one can swear the USO will happen, no matter what, but the protocols in place are designed to keep all people (not just players) as safe as possible. Who knows if it will still happen, and who will come to play it, but they have to proceed as if it will, or they have to cancel now. A lot of players, the ones who need the money, particularly, want to go forward. Worth a try, no?

Exactly. When he brought it up people were complaining and saying it’s stupid, but now people are starting to see that it makes total sense. Nadal is smarter than all of the fans of Federer & Djokovic combined.

I am just surprised some people think they would escape from virus. More or less they will all pass it. Think how is Djoker now strating to prepare, and think on those who are scared and hiding. Yes some will die too, probably not players, elders and those with other complex.

He said in his match against Querry yesterday "I haven't been feeling the best the last couple of days." Why the hell did he not withdraw when he felt unwell? He acted totally irresponsible he has put everyone that he has come in contact with at that tournament getting COVID-19.Everyone has to be tested ASAP.

How do you know that the virus has mutated in the US? It has been spreading, definitely. But mutated? Isn't that a scientific question? I'm sorry that Frances is sick, and that he didn't withdraw sooner. These kids think they're invincible. I watched a little of the tournament, and they did practice social distancing, even in the spectators, but GA is one of those states that is spiking in cases because they opened up incautiously. I guess we'll see if the tournament lasts the weekend. But this will put in peril the USO. I guess this is why we can't have nice things.

Wow day after day I keep reading how Atp players are acting in an irresponsible way. It never ends. I got to say if people all over the world were less like Djokovic and more like Nadal the pandemic would have ended by now.

This virus appears to be more contagious than first thought,viruses by the way 'do mutate' all the time.Look at some of your states in the USA where the virus has got out of hand? eg Florida.....
Here in Melbourne,Australia,suburbs have to go into 'lockdown' as there has been a large outbreak,they are looking at a second curve of this virus,just when they had eased the restrictions,this virus is not over and any easing of restrictions in certain countries have had serious outbreaks.Even here in Sydney where our restrictions have eased,people are not practising 'social distancing',they think this virus is easing,completely the opposite.

The problem in the states is primarily Two fold.. Horrible leadership from the top (Trump ) and the sub 30 aged citizens of the US have no existing social distancing beliefs. E.g. They are having parties at AIRBNBs where drinking and cannibais smoking is very prevalent. Some teenagers in Alabama or somewhere in the southern states are having contests to see who can contract or get infected with Covid-19 viruses. There are a lot of very selfish people here in America and this virus is having a Superbowl every day because it's getting every opportunity to spread to new hosts.

Being responsible and respecting quarantine is not "scared and hiding." That is exactly how you stop from getting the virus. It seems you're trying to skip past the fact that Djokovic and his cohorts got it from being incredibly frivolous about the whole pandemic. Protecting others from it by staying inside and respecting protocols is not just honorable, it's everyone's duty.

I dont wan't to critize your country,it appears that noone is listening to your 'health officials' that also includes your president Trump.Sad to say we are living in a 'Me Society' and even here in Australia,people are also 'selfish'.In Melbourne there are people who are refusing to take the COVID-19 tests? their state is in serious trouble with a major 2nd outbreak.,complete lockdown in some suburbs.
Quite frankly I have serious reservations regarding the USO going forward as planned.

No, I get that viruses mutate, though I sincerely hoping that hasn't happened yet. It's enough to deal with this version, thank you. The outbreaks, I think, come from carelessness, and opening things up too quickly and soon. To date, we don't have enough herd immunity, and the virus is highly contagious, so all of the precautions are for nought if we then cavalierly go about our business now. We need to take it slowly, and use all of our new precautions, like mask-wearing and physical distancing.

It's not criticism but the truth.. this country is going to unnecessarily bury a lot of their citizens because of ignorance and foolishness. I think the USO will happen but it's going to be very inconvenient and uncomfortable for the players.
