I´m very surprised with what Roddick says, not even Borg in that list?????

He says he bumped Borg in favor of Djokovic. And he wasn't happy to do it. It get it, though. You have to bump somebody. Borg, Laver or Sampras? Personally, I think Borg was a greater player than Sampras, and more influential on the game. But follows on to what @El Dude says that it's not all about the Majors. Sampras is in because he has 14 Majors. And a great serve. Laver is Laver. Borg quit early.

My qualm with the list is they're calling it a top 10. Even I don't pretend we need to compare the women and the men, and they don't even try. It's two top 5 lists.

He should have included Borg instead of Laver. If he wanted to include players from the very older era like Laver then he should have also included Margaret Court.

He also explained why he bumped Margaret Court for Serena. We can go on about these choices forever, but I think they'd be better off with Top 10 men's and Top 10 women's, and you wouldn't have to drop so many people.

He should bump Steffi Parche instead.

Whereas Wimbledon has decided to cancel their tournament, FTF does not want to cancel RG. They want to play it some other time this year and they selected the dates unilaterally.

Wimbledon took to long to cancel thinking that maybe they have the chance to play when everybody knew the can't. At least RG did it in advance but it´s obvious they won´t play this year, not tennis at all

Wimbledon starts 5 weeks after RG. Wimbledon's cancellation announcement comes just two weeks after RG's postponement announcement. It is unfair to say Wimbledon took too long to cancel.

I honestly can't believe that a few people here are going to argue like partizans about what Wimbledon and RG chose to do, as if it were the Fedal wars, right? Some people should get a grip. The whole world is upside down at the moment, not just the tennis calendar. How is Wimbledon waiting "too long" to cancel even a thing? Because @Carol had tickets? Personally, I hope we get back to some tennis before the end of the year, and maybe even a couple of Majors, but no one knows what's going to happen, for the forseeable future.

Quite frankly I am not at all surprised that Wimbledon is cancelling this year, one just has to look at the outbreak's of the coronavirus in Europe,my daughter lives in London, where she says the current outlook is bleak, thank goodness she can work from home.
Tennis will survive, people's lives are at risk, they have to be put first period.

Roland Garros will most likely be played in empty stadiums but in terms of tv ratings it will easily break records all over the world since most people will still be home. I estimate at least 3 billion people watching Nadal win #20. Couldn’t happen to a nicer guy! :bye:

My point is that I don't care when RG, Wimbledon and USO is going to be played, it could be great if they could play this year but I don't see it possible. What I don't understand is why Wimbledon took so long to decide when the virus is all around. Of course the human lives are a lot more important than the sports and that's why I can't believe that some people still had the hope that Wimbledon will be played, it's ridiculous and more thinking of the players

But why does it matter when they decided, if they had to cancel, in the end? This whole story is a work-in-progress. The end of June is a long way away. One could imagine why they held out some hope. Big decisions take time. I still don't understand what there is to complain about that they decided early April to cancel a tournament that starts late June.

Also in tennis-related Covid-19 news, the Billie Jean Tennis center will be used to install 350 hospital beds, and also to prepare thousands of meals for health care workers, school kids and the elderly.

Ironically enough the park's official name is "The Flushing Meadows Corona Park", where the tennis center is located on.
