Agreed. He won’t get into a tangle like this with Berrettini, and we saw how he matched up with Medvedev in the Rogers Cup final.

I do not think his legacy is "tainted" but I definitely think he is an "underachiever," no?

For sure, Rafa didn't need to blow leads, but he came back in each of the first 2 sets, then closed out. I still think this is all opponent. Schwartzman goads Nadal into thinking he can out-rally him, then takes the ball early and skunks him often enough to cause trouble. He won't be fooled into playing a clay-style game going forward. That was winning ugly, for sure, but it's a win. See you on Friday!

Clearly, Schwartzman blew it because he's a "clown" and Rafa got "lucky" to win.

All in all, I am relieved that he won in three sets AND he is injury free at the end of the night
