No, I am not grumpy or anything, just pointing out something...another transition. I mean, people used to wait till they sat down to use their towels. Remember those days? Then the towel became available between points. Now drinks are available between points. I highly doubt anyone would suffer from dehydration if they did not have a sip between points...You start hydrating the night before the match !Wow, you're grumpy. Players work their asses off for our entertainment, and you have a hard time with the volunteers giving them a hand, so they can focus. Do you really want them wandering around looking for a towel or a drink? That would slow things down. Or would you prefer that they sweat to the point of detriment to their game, or not drink and cramp? You want top level entertainment, it comes with support.
Serena used to bring Chip to her matches
I think if it was interfering with getting to the service line in a timely manner to serve the next point then something would be done about it, but it seems like it doesn't effect that at all. I do understand your point that the ball boys have turned into much more, but really I don't see it slowing down the game any.No, I am not grumpy or anything, just pointing out something...another transition. I didn't see the drinking on court but I'll take your word for that. And I would say that's a bit much. But I do think that supporting the players is the job of the tournament and those that work for it. Conditions can be tough, and tennis matches are long. If you want the best performance, support it, within bounds. No, I am not grumpy or anything, just pointing out something...another transition. On the road...but to the venue?Vee brings her dog, Zverev, and a few others
Having been there post-roof, Mox and I can tell you just how humid it is. It's just still. There's no air moving around. It's absolutely awfulIt’s a much more physical sport than it used to be. Plus, playing at the USO, in high heat and humidity, is going to make everyone sweat, especially now that the USTA has turned a post-roof Arthur Ashe Stadium into a large sweat box, with almost no air circulation.
Honey, in January, we call ourselves up here AO Vampires, because we're all upside down, in terms of watching tennis at the wrong hours. You are now a USO vampire. All is forgiven.I need to have a shower and freshen up....I am getting brain dead yes I know now the roof is open lol!
It's actually better with the roof on, when the AC is on. Roof off, it's stifling.Having been there post-roof, Mox and I can tell you just how humid it is. It's just still. There's no air moving around. It's absolutely awful
I'm not necessarily talking about USO, but in the past I've seen players bringing their dogs.On the road...but to the venue?
