it's always so confusing with Roger. On the one hand you know he's trying to minimise the effort at the early stages. But on the other hand damn.... The one encouraging thing is that a few times he's unleashed. It seems like the lack of pace might be intentional. Maybe he's slowly trying to increase his average speeds as he manoeuvres through the rounds. He needs to remember to actually win!

I just think he is struggling hitting through the court. This guy is just pushing the ball and running down a lot of Roger's big forehands which he wouldn't be able to do if this wasn't so slow. Aside from that it's just the usual awful returning from Roger.

Cilic goes down as quickly as a whore in Vegas. Pathetic, the one time I root for Juicic he lets me down.

Has he been injured? Seems a bit young to be entering terminal decline

Yeah he has been injured a good part of this season. I think he will get back to a decent level but was hoping it'd be here. He would probably fold mentally vs the rat but he'd make those Po wittle wobbly knees work hard. Cilic always puts him on a string all match.

Cilic went out early last year so it won't hurt his ranking much this time.

As poorly as Roger is playing it's also scary how big the gap is between the top guys and a journeyman like this.

I don't like his chances of winning on this shit court. This court is an absolute play pen for Djokovic more than anyone else. But 2 life and death matches down and 5 life and death matches to go. That's the attitude I hope he's bringing here.

Not particularly happy with what I am am seeing with Roger. But I also can't wrap my head around how slow this grass plays. Normally Roger's slice has bite. Looks like it has nothing here. Even the forehand and the serve. He is not hitting through the court. Maybe he should loosen the tension by 5 pounds or something next match to see how it goes.

Happy 4th of July to the folks south of the border !

While watching Evans/Basil match, I hear a roar coming from another stadium. I knew some folks were very happy. Checking the scoreboards, yes, Norrie just broke Kei.

I watched Evans a bit recently, saw he is playing well and knew he could surprise not only Basilashvili who is nowhere for the last half a year, but maybe even Cilic. Now with Cilic gone he has even more chance to go to R4. Evans was nervous against Delbonis in R1 in set 3 when there was no reason for it, he was a way better player there. Looks like he feels he has a good game now, but is afraid of underperforming. He should be able to deal with Sousa, but looks like a tough match still, maybe a 5 setter that could go either way.
