Only Tipsarevic played 5 set match which had 5 sets written all over it to begin with. There's got to be some more today coming up.

Many gambling sites allow live tennis betting, but I stay away from it because it's too addictive.

Yeah. I think the lines I was seeing a few minutes ago were in match. I think the +2000 for Arnaboldi was because he was already down a set almost 2.

Popyrin getting the first set tiebreak over Carreno Busta. I don't guess I know anything about Popryin. I was expecting a straightforward win for PCB.

Cuevas/Dzumhur at 6-all in the second set tiebkeak. Dzumhur got the first set 6-4.

Hurkacz up a set on the 32 seed Lajovic.

Vesely got the break in the second and has 30-love on Zverev's current serve. Trying to level up the sets. This match could definitely go 5 if Vesely can hold out even if he doesn't break. Would love nothing more than to see Vesely pull off this upset. He loves it here at Wimbledon and I just do not care about Zverev.

Tough for Copil against Pella. Lost the first set tiebreak 13-11. Good for Pella. He's had a great year. But I have a soft spot for Copil after the last year or so.

Medvedev up an early break.

Chardy/Klizan could be fun.

Londero up an early break on Paire. Unsurprisingly.

Cuevas coming up with the tiebreak 10-8. Levels up. Good for him.

Yeah I don't see it happening. Just considering the possibility and what it would be like.
There is no active slam winner aged under 30 in tour at the moment. Just think about it. So chances for a teenager to come out and win one are basically nil.

Someone above thread posted that tickets to men's semis and finals are three times more expensive than women's. Even if it were impossible to determine -- which I don't think it is, as the above example shows -- all other data point to that.

Also, if you take the historic average, I bet that men's tour revenue is way larger than women's. Even in specific moments, if you take the tour as a whole, the difference is probably huge at any point in time. Artificial, and completely irrelevant, moves as equal pay in major events are inherently a bad, extremely bad thing, because you bring the "equality" discussion exactly to a context where it can be (quite easily) criticized.

Even the US soccer example could be a bad one. It is quite possible that the revenue generated by the men's US team -- even if the results are way worst -- is much larger than women's (but I don't know the data). If it is not the case, then this should be the flagship example for the "equality" cause.
You didn't read my response, though...I looked it up. The Women's tkts v. Men's: SF: 160£ v. 185£, F: 185£ v. 225£ ... not anywhere near 3x.

lol! those look like face value to me! Nothing to do with the market. In fact I'm actually surprised they're selling them at different prices

Last I looked debenture tickets for semis and finals are in the 2x to 3x range...men vs women

There hasn't been a good young player on tour since Del Po and we all know what happened there. Not every generation is going to suck, yes there will come a time soon when teenagers or guys in their early 20's win.

But if it's second hand, that's irrelevant to Wimbledon. They are not getting any of that money. They sold the debentures and the holders of those can re-sell them at whatever price they want.

After losing the first set, Vesely takes control of the match by winning 7 games in a row.

Fabbiano breaks to take the 3rd set. My my. Has the lead. At least ensures a 5 set loss. Could pull off this upset. Loves this grass. Even if he loses from here. It would have been worth the bet.

There should be an upset in these 2 matches, the way they are going

Well Zverev made Vesely dig for that hold. Was up love-30. Got 2 or 3 deuces. But Vesely holds for 5-2.

Vesely breaks to take the set. Zverev on his way out. Has a lot of work to do to get back into this one.

And Osaka is now missing routine shots. I can’t believe how much she has declined.

Maybe early 20's, but I would bet against teenagers for the time being.
