Did you guys hear about the black Friday sale on Crystal Ball by J.C. Penny? I bought mine for just $49.99.
Although I had to stand in a queue for over two hours, it is probably worth it. It comes with a guarantee for
80% of predictions about the next year and 60% of predictions about the next five years.
I can return it for full refund if either one of the marketing claims do not pan out.
Here are my ten predictions for 2019 as revealed to me by my new shiny Crystal Ball.
1. The last two years, the Big Three accounted for all the GSs of the year. I say that all good things must come to an end.
The big three will never ever (not just in 2019) collectively win all four slams in the same year.
2. The big three will collectively win exactly two of the four slams. I cannot say which slams. But, I can say that Novak
will win at least one of them. This means at least one and possibly (but not probably) two of the Big three will end
the year without any GS titles.
3. DelPotro will win one GS in 2019. But, I cannot say which one. He is a contender when healthy in all the slams.
Hopefully, he will be healthy and the stars will align for him in one of the GSs in 2019.
4. Now comes the surprise part. The other GS will be won by some one from the Next Generation. I cannot say
who it will be though. But, I can say who it won't be. It won't be Sasha.
5. Perseus will win at least one Big Title (meaning ATP 1000 or above) in the year 2019. Also, he will qualify for the
Men's WTF (and not just the Boy's WTF).
6. Federer will play at least one clay tourney in 2019. Also, Federer will not retire in 2019.
7. Casper Ruud (Trump and me like Norwegians
) will make significant progress and end the year in top 50.
8. Shapo will finish the year in top 16. After good progress this year, D Minor will stall next year and will end the
year in plus or minus five spots from where he ends this year (which as of today is #31).
9. Radek Stepanek will become the coach of Nick Kyrgios.
10. At least five different players from top 100 at the end of this year will retire during or at the end of 2019.
