Yes.. Good fight from Maria. But, thanks god her and that scream is gone. It got worse as the match went on.

It will be interesting for her to face Kvitova again so soon after Sydney. Both have been playing top level tennis. Should be a great match.

Good win for Barty! Showed some real mettle there at the end. I think I kinda wanted to see Sharapova all the way back. But Barty so good in the second set. Definitely deserved her first quarterfinal.

Collins up 3-0 real quick! Kerber need to get with it. I can't get a stream though. It's labeled for this match but showing Tiafoe/Dimitrov. Which I've already got.

If you had said to me that Collins was going to bagel Kerber to open the match I would have laughed in your face. She's #2 in the world. Semifinalist here last year. Yes. She's a counter puncher and can often have poor matches or poor sets. But... a bagel? Collins won 2 NCAA championships. But that's literally the only thing that shows she can play this well. She hasn't exactly impressed on tour over the last 3 or 4 years. Like, I gave her a chance to win this match. But a bagel is just very surprising.

Collins still hanging in there even though Kerber finally showed up after her bathroom break. I wish bathroom breaks did that for me. Come back from the bathroom and start doing all of my work significantly better. She came out and broke. But did get broken right back.

And now Collins has broken again for 4-2. So the bathroom break maybe didn't help too much. Collins just too good today. Kerber just not at her best. And Collins not allowing her to get there.

Collins is playing incredible tennis. Kerber isn’t even playing badly. I’d picked Kerber to win the tourney, but she needs to come up with something soon.

So Collins breaks AGAIN for the match. 6-0 6-2. On the one hand, seeing Kerber's play, it was not good. She gave a lot of help to Collins. On the other hand. I. AM. FLABBERGASTED. Like. Again. I didn't think Collins had no chance. Because Kerber can just... like today, lose her way. But I never dreamed it'd be a drubbing for Collins. That's insane.

That's a rare and let's be honest, pathetic scoreline especially involving a one time AO champion and overall three time Grand Slam winner. Angelique is a better player than this. What was wrong with her FFS ?

Yeah. I just have no idea. Collins was good. Really good. But not so good that Kerber should have lost that poorly. I guess you could say Collins never let her get going. And so she could never get into the match. And Kerber seemed astonished with her own poor play. Still very confusing.

I didn't see Collins/Kerber match but pretty astonished by the blowout.
has Kerber ever lost a match by such a one sided scoreline before ? I didn't see the game either. Was she ill?

She's actually lost a couple of times to Wozniacki - like in Stuttgart 2012, where she lost 61 62.
